I went in the morning so got breakfast meal. Porridge with jam, pancakes with syrup and also a egg muffin meal with a latte. All the Food was fresh and very tasty as you would expect. Sitting area was clean an staff are nice an friendly. If you passing by Darwen an need a pit stop these services are great and also other restaurant choices.
A decent enough services and I was drawn by the smell of the Oriental Street food bar. Unfortunately I must have taken my invisibility pills that morning as the two staff looked very busy but I wasn't acknowledged or spoken to for 5 minutes my partner was in a queue for a coffee. So I left and got an always passable Gregg's sandwich!
If lucky to get a truck parking spot, occasionally I've had to head straight out again if all allocated lorry bays are taken, then it's an ok little services. Clean, comfortable and safe. The usual vendors on site. Praise to Greggs for consistently being efficient and customer focused. Petrol station staff a bit frosty regarding taking photos but it's not illegal so I told them to mind their own business in exactly the same frosty attitude they used on me. Don't be put off buying fuel as I suppose they were wondering if I was a building inspector.
All good. Toilets are clean, always parking available and Greg's and McDonald's are fine.
Quick call for something to eat called at the gregg was a bit disgusted that they did not do the meal deals on the sandwich worked out expensive so watch out for this we paid £21 for 3 sandwich and 3 drinks and a pack of sausage rolls
Not Disabled friendly late at night early morning , At 03:45 I took a disabled lady to use there services nothing open for a drink or anything , Worse Disabled toilets locked the normal toilets entrances had cones in them , Nobody inside the services , waited for nearly 15 minutes , Took the Disabled person and put her in my car , Saw a chap outside in a high visibility jacket asked if he knew why Disabled toilets and able bodied were locked or closed his reply was I have cleaned them and disabled people don't come out on a night , I replied that it is a poor excuse lots of disabled people work and go out on a night , would certainly say he needs to read the signs in the services not every disability is visible you don't just need to use a wheelchair to use them .
Went to McDOnalds drive- through. Firstly, I was given the wrong order. Then, on the second attempt, a missing drink & sauces. Had to walk from car park to store to obtain missing drink. By the time I walked back to the car, chicken nuggets were past their best.
The fuel station side of the services are quite good, but as it's Supposed to be a motor-way services, I would have expected to be able to buy food 24hrs a day. Apart from the supermarket and toilets, everything else is shut in the evening and early hours of the morning. Unless I'm really low on fuel, I Will be Avoiding these services...
Service areas are always pricey. This ones no different. Plenty of food places, shop, McDonald's, Gregg's and a Costa coffee Petrol station HGV overnight parking.
As service stations go, at least it's clean and tidy. Not the best rod layout, particularly with the Mcdonalds drive through bit. Best bit is the 7 EV chargers 6 Ionity and an aged electric highway point. Best to use the ionity
