Great quality food, menu continues to evolve. Would be fantastic to see more Vegetarian options. With chips, there is some inconsistency on portion size. It depends on which member of staff serves you. See photo of a large portion:
Quite a nice, friendly place. Chips were really good. Had a bit of a wait but then the chips were freshly cooked so you can’t ask for more really. The shop was pretty clean and comfortable. Could do with some more chairs. TV was on so there was something to kill the time while you waited. Can recommend this place for fish and chips.Recommended dishesLarge Chips
Stuck in Rugby waiting for a train. Decided to find some food and found the best chicken kebab I've ever had. I might get stuck here again on purpose. Respect
One of the best fish and chips places I have found. Portions are huge and filling and prices are affordable. There's high foot traffic but faced passed energy staff don't keep you waiting long! I've only been a few times, but I'm looking forward to trying more from the menu xFood: 5/5
I returned to Rugby from Canada for a funeral a week before Christmas 2022. I had a steak and kidney pie and chips, the next day, fish and chips. Both meals were as good as I remember from my youth. I hadn't been here for a long time and have heard mixed reviews. I went when it wasn't too busy and everything was pretty good. We had a variety of different meals and everything was cooked really well. Will like to try out a few other things on the menu but as it stands, it was a good all rounderFood: 5/5
I like this place but only gave it three stars because they use to offer Gluten Free which i loved but then I was told they dont which was disappointing so now I can only really the chips so often have to go elsewhere. wish more local chip shops would offer GF options.
Inaccurate, rude and unacceptable staff behaviour from a young brown woman here. I placed an order online via Foodhub for Collection. I ordered 2 x Mixed Kebab Naan, 1 x Regular Chips, 1 x Savoury Rice, 1 x Curry Sauce. I drove some 5 miles to collect the order and drove home. Opened the order, to realise the Regular Chips are missing! Very poor considering this is a takeaway chip shop. I telephoned Extra Fish Bar and told them "I've just collected an order from you and got home to realise there is no regular chips in the order". They ended the call immediately. I'm quite sure it was the same woman who served the order and answered the phone. I understand people can make mistakes, however the customer service to rectify the mistake speaks for itself. This also leaves me with a chip on my shoulder having spent £2.90 for nothing and being treated badly for no reason. It's a shame as this chippy has served me OK for some time, but unfortunately this has crossed the line for me so i will be taking my custom elsewhere.
Wow and yum. Serious amounts of food for the price. Food is hot, fresh and plentiful. I had the large cod and chips, battered mushrooms and an order of coleslaw. The fish and chips was delicious. Cooked perfectly, still moist with a crunchy batter. Fries were thick cut and fried well. Watch yourself on the mushrooms, not sure how they can seem just warm to the touch and molten lava inside. Great experience, Los of folks coming and going. Looked busy for a dreary Tuesday...
Superb fish and chips! The photo you see here is the small cod & chips meal. I'm a huge eater and this filled me up. Delicious, fresh fish. Chips are warm crispy on the outside soft on the inside. They have loads of other food options as well. 2 people can share the big cod n chips! Highly recommended
