I was a client of Evolve as a buyer. Millie T. was dealing with my case, who offered conveyancing services on behalf of Evolve, sending me an email. I agreed but in general was highly disappointed with my choice. Almost full absence of communication with Millie, who did not bothered with replies to my emails as well as picking up the phone or calling me back. That kind of negligent attitude together with relaxed approach towards my case caused essential stress and delays in finalizing the deal, cost me extra expenses and nerves. This is not how the reputable company, which charges above the market average, should care about its clients. Sad for Evolve which was recommended as a reliable and caring company. It is disappointing when its individual employees with such a negligent approach damage not only their own reputation, but also a reputation of the whole firm. Next time I would be more careful taking recommendations about specialists who are going to handle my case.
Edit in response to reply from evolve: I am unaware of any mistruths here as I have it on record from Land Reg the timeline of events. The rapid response to the post in the face of public exposure, while lack of communication to a dissatisfied customer is yet another frustration. Evolve have failed to provide me their account of what happened and have fallen rather silent since I raised this timeline via email. For record we have requested all comms with the Land Registry and info of their requital. I do not expect a conclusion to the review but at the least the documentation we have requested multiple times in a timely manner. Regarding the complaints policy. I sent several emails raising concern throughout August and September and finally flagged the complaint myself on 15th Sept. As per the complaints policy I expected a response within 7 days which didn’t happen until I called in myself. The policy also mentioned that Evolve may request a meeting within 10 days which is yet to happen and I’ve been told I’d receive a call on two occasions where this has not happened. As I mentioned, at no point have evolve actually contacted me first on this matter. I respect the 28 day policy, however when this is due to put us under financial strain within this time window I’m sure you can appreciate our urgency on the request. We are essentially in the dark regarding Evolve’s stance and what their recommendations are, while our mortgage will increase by £350 next month and interest rates look set to spiral. ———- Original: In November 2020 we used Evolve Law for the purchase of our first home. It all seemed to go well at the time of purchase with no complications. Fast forward to August 2022 when we go to remortgage. The property is still registered to the former owners on land registry. This means we are unable to take up a fixed rate mortgage or sell the property should we wish. Evolve told us that the issue had been caused by land registry changing their policy and that they had only been informed recently. I called land registry who informed me that they had received the application beyond the date of a deadline for electronic signatures March 2021. They had then flagged to evolve on Jan 2022, chased them up in March 2022 and due to lack of response, closed the application in April 2022. We have contacted evolve multiple times and been met with evasive, false answers. The complaints team were due to call us back and on two occasions failed to do so. We are now at a point where we will lose £350 per calendar month, likely increasing with the projected interest rate increases, until this is resolved. We understand that mistakes happen but the response from Evolve has been awful and left us with no option but to pursue legal advice elsewhere for their negligence. I have wasted many hours trying to resolve the issue and have had little to no support so far.
We used Evolve Law for purchasing our first home. Therefore this is the only experience we have had with using solicitors. Overall, we had a positive experience, we were always able to ask questions and get in touch through email or on the phone and they often explained things to us as we were unfamiliar with a lot of terms as first time buyers though I don't believe we ever spoke with the actual solicitor handling it but others were on hand as messengers so to speak. It did take a while for the sale to go through but in general things are slow these days, I felt evolve were not the ones holding this up. There were a couple of issues where something was missed and had we not called up, our sale may have been delayed believe this was largely due to xmas/new year break which meant it wasn't fresh in the mind. Though this wasn't ideal, it's understandable and we noticed and they responded really quickly and did what we needed so everything went ahead as planned. Overall I would consider using evolve again :.
Teigan and Elaine were brilliant! Tiegan was so attentive, helpful and efficient. They made the process pain free! My sister is also using Evolve and finds them brilliant! Would definitely recommend them and use their services again!
UPDATE following their response below. This firm are out-and-out liars. I did not ask for or attempt to obtain any information whatsoever, nor was I at any time impolite. I was simply calling to inform the relevant solicitor that their client had not paid his utility bills for several months prior to selling the property, and that it was therefore impossible to transfer them out of his name. And could they please inform their client so it can be rectified asap. I did not ask for anything - I acted completely within SRA guidelines I have been a solicitor for nearly 30 years, and their response below is both dishonest and defamatory. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I am a solicitor who has been trying to deal with the fact their client is in multiple breach of contract. They have refused to put me through to the solicitor acting, and instead put the phone down on me 3 times, after being incredibly rude. I will be making a formal complaint to the SRA.
Used them twice and I have nothing but good words to say. They are conveyancing specialists and uphold their agreement. I also believe there pricing is competitive to the service they offer.
We can not thank Evolve Law enough for the support they recently provided us with for our property sale and purchase. This is the second time using Evolve and we can not recommend them highly enough. Elaine is absolutely amazing and such a shining star, she is so friendly, calm, supportive, knowledgable and informative. Nothing was ever too much trouble and she kept us updated through every step of the process. Thank you once again Elaine to you and your team, we are so pleased with all you did for us and are so happy in our new home. Matt & Sarah.
Evolve Law entered into contract to carry out our conveyancing work at a fixed fee. The process took around 8 months and I had to keep on having to call and email to get updates. Their response time is too slow. On occasions the receptionist did not pass the message to the solicitor. Was told the fee may go up despite a fixed fee was agreed upon. This firm is seriously understaffed agreed by the developer of the new build property. Every completion statement received had different amounts than that of the previous. Errors that had to be flagged up otherwise would have ended up paying some things twice. Raised complaint with their managing director and the response given is so inadequate, he avoided to answer the truth by saying there was no record of this and that. I tried to speak to him via telephone but he declined. How can one agrees it caused frustration but does not accept the cause for this. The directors attitude has prompted me to give this 1 star review. Please do read other negative/poor/bad ones left by customer and decide for yourself. Some of the staff do a good job but this can not be said the same for all of them. It has been said that staff are always leaving. The developer that recommend Evolve Law has terminated their contract with them due to Evolve Law not meeting Customer Expectations. Sadly for those reasons it would be the first and last time for us to use Evolve Law!
Brilliant communication from start to finish from the Evolve Law Team. Very friendly and transparent. Impressed with the managing of expectations and broke down the conveyancing jargon for me and my partner to understand. Particular special mention to Elaine, although a team effort, her service was above and beyond. I have since recommended to others and will continue to do so to anyone looking for a competent, communicative and trustworthy conveyancer in Milton Keynes. 5 Stars is not enough.
Without Evolve Law's fantastic support, we would not have completed on the purchase, as we faced issues for months with the bottom of the chain. I believe they went completely over and above, even advising and driving solicitors at the bottom of the chain! I cant thank them, or rate them high enough! Fantastic experience working with Evolve Law!
