Purchased a car 7 weeks ago from here and they have had it in their work shop more than IV had it. Bare in mind the car is a 65 reg so not very old. I was assured it had a full health check on the car the day I picked it up which was a week after I had paid my deposit. So more than enough time to give it a good check over. On test driving the car it needed breaks doing which I said before I take it they need doing, very spongy. Picked the car up and again assured it has been fully checked break and all. Pulled out the garage onto A19 didn't stop when I breaked. So breaks hadn't been done so straight away it was in having them done. Couple of days later engine management light came on. So it was back in getting checked picked car up as part needed to be ordered and had to take car back down a week later for them to fix it so I did. 20 miles each way every time I had to go to garage. Picked the car up from been fixed. Went away with the family to lakes and the light came on again. So this time I paid to have it checked by my local garage which I use for services and MOT. Got the check back and they hadn't fixed the original problem which has now lead to a new problem along with original. So car is back again to be fixed. There is a lovely sticker on the front window which states quality assured. I can assure you the quality is not there as they aren't checking the cars over before you pick them up. Which is a shame with it been a mean dealer. No wonder sales people get a name for themselves. All I was after is a car that was safe for me to travel around in with my 2 young children. It has cost so much more money than planned as I'm putting fuel in a loan car and insurance which they charge 10 pound for ever day you have it along with still having to keep my original car insured. Please just be careful when going to this garage I don't want anyone else recieving this quality service from them. Another bit of advice would be if you do purchase a car from them have it checked when you pick it up be someone who you trust. At least you can get it fixed under the warranty.
I purchased a car from you and I was told a stone chip would be made good and car would be valeted. However, after leaving it with you for over a week, we arrived at an arranged pick up time after travelling over an hour and waiting an hour but chip still visible and car wet - on a dry day. Our new used car was not as promised, very poor service and we were not able to ring direct to the garage to speak to any one.
Traded my car in and purchased another one. The car was driven down to peterlee by Chris from another garage and all work was done on it immediately ready to pick my car up on my birthday! Lizzie and Hughie were also fabulous when I went into the garage to sign all the paperwork to make sure my car would be ready when I wanted it. Upon arrival on the day of pick up, the car was covered in red cloth with a birthday balloon on the bonnet, and inside was a bottle of wine and some flowers! Car was immaculate and drives beautifully. Thanks guys for the lovely service!
If I could give 0 stars I would. Got a Mazda 3 venture brought up from Bedford to Peterlee at cost of £200 to myself. Was told of Craig I would get a call when it was in. Anyway to cut a long story short, I happened to be passing and it was in, so I though I would call in. I was told that I had apparently rang head office and cancelled the order which I did not do. I proceeded to test drive the Mazda still after the way I've been treated. I liked the car and had money ready but though why should I buy if they quite obviously don't want my money.
Would not recomend this company at all shocking service from start to finish. 1. The hire car I was given had no insurance on it after I was told I could drive it. 2. I was told I would get car back same day, didn’t happen. 3. After we refused to pay the hire car fee due to the service we received and risked my license, I was then told I would not get my car back. 4. The car that was in garage was mine, even thought they had my number they still went behind my back with all situations. Please avoid this garage if possible, absolutely shocking, this will be taking further.
Absolutely shocking service!! Booked an appointment to view a car. Travelled an hour to get to the garage only to be told the car had been taken. No courtesy call, nothing!! Said they would ring the next day to clarify that the car had actually been taken. No call. I had to ring them for them to tell me they still didn't know and would call me back. Heard nothing from them since. Will definitely not be buying a car from a garage who does not value their customer service!!!!
Took my car for a service and it was a nightmare booking it in - the lady who took the booking was so slow. At the service, I was told there were 2 safety recalls to be attended to - clutch and brakes. First one went ok. Second one was a nightmare- they told me it would take 2 days. At the end of the 2nd day I phoned and was told it might not be ready. I complained, and then they phoned to say it was ready after all. Picked it up - it was unwashed, which was a bit disappointing, and they were very unfriendly. But a few weeks later, I’ve had an MOT done locally and they discovered that Evans Halshaw has left the cap off the brake fluid reservoir. This is appalling. Worst garage I’ve ever done business with - and I used to be a Fleet Manager!
I had a bad experience with this garage back in 2007; I bought a brand new Corsa-D from them and there was a delay on the delivery date for a few days as the car was in the bodyshop being ‘prepped’ It was a brand new car. I eventually got the car and went to take the badges off the side of the door, only to find that the door had been re-painted around the badge! Took it back to the garage and apparently there’d been an incident where someone drove into the door and needed it repaired, so they took it in and repaired it and painted it, not what you’d expect from a brand new car. Nearly 10 years on, I thought I’d give them another try as there was a car there which I wanted and I assumed that most of the staff had moved on so it would be new people there, as the previous after sales was horrific. Anyway, went and bought a car from there and when I asked to look inside the car on the lot, the battery was completely dead so that wasn’t possible. It had been on the lot for a few months, so that could explain that, so wrote that part off. They charged up the battery for the next day and took it on a test drive and everything seemed ok apart from the odd scratch here and there which they said they’d sort. It comes time to collect the car and most of the scratches were dealt with, but there was still some left, but it’s the same with any car, there’s always going to be scratches. Everything was smooth running with it until 1 month down the line, we had a blow out on the motorway. Got the car to a local garage and they said the car shouldn’t have been sold with those tyres as for a month’s driving, they shouldn’t be that worn and shouldn’t have blown out as a result of tyre depth, but they did… Had both tyres replaced and kept going smoothly again until a few months later when there was a message appeared on the car saying the engine had overheated. Parked up for a few hours and when I went back to the car, it was still the same so I needed to get towed home. Eventually got the car to the garage too and they knew as soon as I went in that the message was due to an issue with the exhaust sensor which was to be done under warranty. Two days later, they sorted that out; but there was further issues, equating to over £600 for work needed to be done on the brakes Which were at 95% worn, rear suspension needing replaced and a bunch more things which shouldn’t need to be done on a car 6 months owned and covered less than 5,000 miles in that time. I said to leave the work and I’d get it done elsewhere. When I was in there getting the car, I asked if they had a health check from before they sold the car so I could see how much the brakes were worn at the time of sale, along with the tyres and if there was any other warnings. Apparently, they don’t do health checks on-site and they’re only done when the cars are prepped at the site down south. As the car had been left for months, you’d have thought it’d be a good thing to check the car over before it’s sold, especially considering the battery was dead and needed to be charged. Anyway, we requested a health check from when the car was originally prepped and they couldn’t gain access to the system, so couldn’t provide it. We asked if they could request one from the prep site and they said they would do that and once they have it, they would provide it to me. Obviously that didn’t happen. So once again, two times using the garage and the after sales has been terrible. The initial sale was fantastic and I couldn’t fault it, but once they have the cash, it seems like they don’t care. I’ll never be using them again and happily advise others of the issues I’ve had and tell them to stay away.
I was there and I agreed terms of finance and I had printed off preliminary agreement and I had Just to wait a few days for bank acceptance. They rang to me that bank accepted so I came to receive a car and they tried to pop me for a signature different agreement with much more amount and bigger monthly instalments without Even informing me. They tried to sell me a car for 7.500 pounds with finance for amount of 14000!!!!. What a joke. They said that preliminary agreement doesnt count as is not a document.Very unprofessional service and manager is very arrogant and cocky. He was laughing me when I complained about it . If you need car finance, better avoid this place. They are Just Time waisters.
Bought My car from this company in June 2017,it was a hot day the roof was down Its a Mini Cooper when the deal was done I came back a week later picked the car up was told they had put an air freshener in the air con unit, I thought that was really thoughtful. Then I noticed the smell PHEW it was really bad so I got it valleted still the smell stayed 4 times I had it valleted still the smell stayed This is not cheap !! finally I put it into my mini dealer they got rid of the smell Thank goodness. Now its January 2018 and I have put 3000, miles on the car. Then I was driving the car when lots of pretty RED lights came on the dash These were warning lights I got my little book out to see what the problem was, I thought it was the service warning so I phoned the peterlee garage and explained that The book was not Signed and no ticks were present even though the book had a stamp and the milage was noted on the service page so they booked me in I drove from south shields to peterlee ,they came back with my book now fully stamped and ticked assured me it definitely has had the service the book not being filled in was just was an oversight .but the problem with the lights was with the back brakes and that they were not covered under the warranty.I paid 9000, for my car I did not think I would be paying £129. to replace the brakes after only 3000, miles of driving. Not good customer service . I will not use this company again.
