What a disaster of customer experience. Now with customs in it really doesn’t make any sense to go through the odyssey of taking a Eurostar. Really bad service from staff, disorganized, queues, dirt. It reminds me of the Buquebus journey from Buenos Aires to Montevideo. As bad as that but in the heart of Europe. Unbelievable.
I recently booked a journey with Eurostar that included connections beyond their own network, and unfortunately, it was a frustrating experience. Despite my initial hopes, I found that Eurostar does not provide adequate service or support for journeys once you travel beyond their direct routes. When issues arose, Eurostar continuously referenced a minor 3-minute delay on their part, completely overlooking the real problem: a 1.5-hour delay caused by the French carrier during my train journey in France, which was booked through Eurostar. The situation left me feeling like Eurostar is leveraging regulations meant to protect passengers as a way to avoid responsibility and fair customer service. For the prices Eurostar charges, you should be able to expect decent service throughout the entire journey. Based on this experience, I will avoid booking any future travel that extends beyond Eurostar’s network. Their service just doesn’t hold up where they aren't directly involved.
Bad Service and Rip-Off Practices - Avoid I recently traveled on the Eurostar and had a terrible experience. The train had two delays one caused by Eurostar - over an hour in total, causing us to miss our connecting train from Brussels to London. Originally coming from Amsterdam This left us and hundreds of other passengers scrambling for the next available connection with Eurostar. The lines were chaotic, and no information was provided by the staff. To make matters worse, we were offered the option to "voluntarily downgrade" our tickets from Standard Premier to Standard. If we didn't accept this downgrade, we would have had to stay overnight in Brussels with no compensation. When we asked for a refund due to the downgrade, we were told no because it was "voluntary." What a joke. While waiting, we spoke with other passengers who had been told they had to upgrade their tickets from Standard to Standard Premier, even though we were told that the Standard Premium area was completely full. It seems like Eurostar is ripping people off by forcing premium ticket holders into standard seats with no refund, and then selling those premium seats to standard ticket holders. The whole experience was an utter JOKE. Avoid Eurostar if you can!!!! An embarrassment of a company.
Eurostar Amsterdam-London is a mess. They suddenly cancel confirmed tickets, do not reschedule on earlier or later train as they should, but do promise "free" rebooking. However, website demands additional payment of €80. Moreover: most other trains on the day are full. Customer service tells me to contact NS International, who can't do anything, as website issue should be solved by Eurostar. Eurostar then simply stops responding. They have my money but do not deliver even the most basic service.
Don’t do it! Fly instead. Avoid Eurostar and give your money to competitive airlines who don’t use insane dynamic pricing. This company charges way too much money for this service. It’s same cost or more as a flight. I was told I missed my first train. But based on when they closed the doors on my updated train I could have made it. Instead I paid an extra £62 The train WiFi doesn’t work. There’s nowhere near enough seats in the waiting area before boarding, and they wait until 15 minutes before departure to announce which platform your train will be on.
Expensive and very bad check in. First won't let me get in line, said I arrived too early. Then by the time I got to the counter, won't let me in, said the train is closed. How is that possible? Had to escalate, they let me in, the train is late anyway but also closed!?. The announcer is playing amateur hour, gave conflicting messages in the span of 30 seconds. The passport machine is broken. The feedback machine is broken. The only thing that went well was charging $300 six weeks in advance.
Avoid, dishonest organisation, Service significantly not as described. Their partner's train got late by half an hour which caused me to miss the train. Slept rough on the streets of Paris. Horrible experience.
Trains are fine and nicer than flying but waiting area at King’s Cross St Pancras Intl. is way too small. Hundreds of people standing due to lack of enough seats.
Can't take a ticket with cash, the cards with no pin codes don't work, the machines all bugging from 1995.. Shame on you, and three girls serving for nothing over the top, a nightmare. jsut imagine if you get pickpoted and you only have cash to go back home, shame on you eurostar
I highly enjoyed my trip from London to Paris, you didn’t need to arrive that early boarding was quick the train started quick so much accessible luggage storage and a quick fast trip and a cafe with lots of different options of food I would highly recommend this train.
