First time getting electricity, literally sent to this shop with a card and told to put £20 on it. The guy gives me back my card and said that’s you! So I said thank you, walk out. 1 meter from the door he shouts over, do u want a receipt or anything? And i said no it’s okay thank you. As he didn’t tell me that was what I had just paid for; or that I need a receipt or anything. Get home and go to put it in and realise I can’t, don’t have what I just paid for. Now to be fair on reflection this is really stupid on my behalf too but it’s my first time getting electric, I didn’t know, and I stupidly thought a guy selling electricity to hundreds of people a day would give me what I paid for. I went back to the shop and he even said oh you’re the girl who didn’t want a receipt. He said he had it sat somewhere but not sure where so he didn’t know what he could do. I was pretty sure it was right infront of him but I didn’t want to make assumptions. I said that I really need it so he calls the manager and she comes and explains that if it can’t be found I need to contact the electricity supplier. Which in itself is unfair because I paid for a product I was never given. After his manager begins to look too he manages to find it right infront of him all along as suspected of course. I totally get I was stupid in this too, I just think as someone working in a shop you should know to give someone the product they have paid for
Almost every single night the coffee machines are turned off before 11.30pm when store is open till 12pm why???nI work late and enjoy a coffee after work on my way home and get so annoyed when seeing the coffee machines are off!!! If state's you are open till 12pm then you should be able to get a product.nMaybe even turning 1 machibe off to clean I understand but not both before 11.30pm.nI must admit one night I went a lovely staff member while cleaning saw I was annoyed and asked me to wait a few moments and he would turn back on, which he did and I got my coffee.nThis is not the case with the other staff who just tell me no they are off and walk away.nI work in an establishment that serves all customers everything to stated time we are open till.nBeautiful coffee but shame its not available to people who work late.
Never had a reason to use this Spar but was in the area and I now make a point of going here. Staff are always friendly, self checkouts are great and there’s always someone there to sort a problem out of you run into one, unlike the bigger supermarkets. Plenty of parking and reasonable fuel prices. Post office is handy and looked like the store manager was mucking in to help, which is reassuring to see. All the people whinging about bad customer service probably weren’t very pleasant themselves. They stock all of the good healthy ready meals too.
This is not a shop in the traditional sense anymore. Machines for everything. Has totally lost its community feel. Wouldnt use the store again
Busy store, new look is great. More space inside and more stock as well.nnThe self service check out tills is great to have and the frozen section has a massive increase in stock.nnThe butcher's are ok, meat a bit on the pricey side which does not sit well with the size of the meat. Too small to charge so much.nnFresh produce is great with a nice variety to hand.nnStaff are always friendly.
