The MG HS was an excellent car with enough aids when driving. The view point from the car was high. Hiring through Europcar was a breaze.
Worst hire car experience I've ever had. Car stunk of cigarette smoke. We tried a car smelly thing, having windows down in freezing cold UK and the smell never went away. It made our clothes smell! 6 days of driving around in that was awful. We needed big boot space so booked a larger car, apparently got an upgrade upon picking it up but the boot space was tiny! Kids had to have luggage between them and at their feet and front passenger had luggage at their feet just to fit everything in. Not much of an upgrade driving hours on end cramped up! Had tried to email Europcar couldn't call from our phones and the response time was slow and they suggested we go to another Europcar to swap it, but where we were travelling there wasn't any. So that was useless. It was terrible!
Europcar, I made booking over the phone including insurance cover but when I picked up the car I was told their is no cover and I had to pay extra, Europcar branch manager said he'd look into it. But no response after two weeks. SO be careful, BOOK elsewhere as they charge extra on pick up.
We got a similar car of the class we booked - Vauxhall Crossland X. Washed, touch-up and well maintained. Nice to drive. The collection was easier than I thought. I upgraded my protection for peace of mind. Upon returning, the car was checked and cleared of any new damage. Deposit was refunded to me within the next day. We met very efficient and friendly staff both during collection and returning. Thanks! We had a memorable holiday in the UK.
Hired a van from here and brought it back an overnight drop full of fuel with a receipt to make sure I wouldn't get charged for any fuel costs. However, the next day I got charged for fuel! Luckily Europcar sorted out the charge as I gave them the receipt with proof. Worringly the following day I got a follow-up call from a Europcar person not from the Lancefield branch who said the van had actually been logged as being returned as full of fuel so implied that the charge may have been applied unfairly.
DO NOT RENT A VEHICLE FROM THIS BRANCH! If you literally have no other choice, be sure to take a photo of every inch of the vehicle before you leave. They’ll charge you for anything that they can get away with. I’m currently being charged for a tear in a tyre which I didn’t cause and also a ‘late return fee’. They’ll tell you to return the car any time before 7pm but will fail to tell you that the depot closes at 6pm. I returned the car at 18:45 and had to post the keys, they’re now acting as if i didn’t return the car until the following morning. If this happens to you, be aware that there are trackers on the car and you can dispute their claim.

Rec'd courtesy car. Nothing wrong with car, but service atrocious. Got charged for fuel as did not return car with the sufficient amount. You would think as this is a very important factor they would have mentioned this when dropping car off, but kept tight lipped, so watch out for that folkes. They did advise it's in the t&c's so great get out clause for them. Not mentioning to customers I think is very poor customer service & can catch a lot of people out Not only that they text me to pay £130 which I paid. I have since found out this wasn't my bill. They sent this in error, so I paid someone else's bill.Although I paid this online through their website inputting my email details etc that they asked for they said they had no record of this. Agents on phone were not helpful & always said we have to look into it do they not have computers in front of them to check any information for customers .How do they not know who paid an invoice, so have they rec'd this payment twice who knows?? Agent wasn't even able to find my details as said can only find by agreement number, so again they don't even know where they dropped a car off. You think they would trace details by address. Again poor service. They told me to send proof of this payment, so now I'm doing there job Had to contact my bank to get details of payment & sent them the authorisation code still waiting to hear back. Again I just dont understand why they don't even have the authorisation code themselves. Hope I never have to use Europcar again as this has been sooo stressful
DO NOT USE Audi arranged these cowboys to arrange a courtesy car to be provided after my S3 was recalled for a software update. They arrived at my house without calling in advanced with an old bashed up Toyota with damage on every panel. Called them up to arrange collection of the vehicle and change it to be told this is the only vehicle they have in the Glasgow quay and airport depo. Now I just want them to collect the vehicle and were putting me on hold then hanging up. Now they are not even answering to my number. Worst customer service I’ve dealt with any company. I never write a bad review no matter my experience but this has been beyond a joke when you cant even return a car that you do not want.
You charged me for Tyre and screen protection that I specifically said I did not want. I had a 3 month old baby with me so just signed the contract you handed me with trust and no time to read through thoroughly. I'm absolutely disgusted.
