Went in a few weeks ago to enquire about wedding bands - met with Sheila who was lovely. Very knowledgable and friendly. Made me feel at ease - sent all information over to me promptly. Went back and purchased my beautiful wedding band with Sheila again. Too service. Highly recommend
My partner and I were searching for the perfect engagement ring & went into EJ’s Princes Street branch after having a few disappointing experiences at other shops. EJ staff were a breath of fresh air - no snootiness, no sense of urgency to make the sale. We had a lovely chat with the sales staff mind you, this was at a busy time on a Saturday. Everyone was just so friendly and you can tell they enjoy their work. We ended up buying my engagement ring here as well as our wedding bands later. A year on, I went back in to get the rings polished and we picked up where we left off. Lovely place, made our engagement even more of a happy memory.
Connie has been amazing! Highly recommended!
We used Ernest Jones throughout the engagement and wedding process and the whole Edinburgh team were marvellous. From replacement watch straps to engagement rings the service never wavered and was brilliant throughout. During the more nerve-racking process of selecting an engagement ring the team were very supportive and were happy to answer all my questions and walk me through the process. Thank you in particular to Michaela, who was instrumental in picking the perfect rings for us both. Brilliant service guys!
Very good customer service from everyone especially Michaela and Suzannah hopefully spelled names correctly when I took a colleague's watch in for repair. They really took the time to get info on the cost an communicate the details and requirements to the repair shop.
First class service. I broke my ceramic watch at the gym - it fell out of locker and smashed on the tiled floor. I had had it for a few years and I thought the model would have been discontinued. The staff did think it may have been a struggle to get a new one, but it seemed to be no problem for them. I felt like I mattered to them and that my business was wanted. Flawless customer service from start to finish.
Avoid Ernest Jones at all costs - unless you want an expensive engagement ring delivered to the wrong address it was requested to be delivered to my partners workplace instead of our home. It was requested to be delivered securely with my partner having to sign for and provide photo ID. Instead, it was delivered to our home address when no one was home and left with a new neighbour who we’ve never met before without them signing anything or providing photo ID. My partner then decided that she didn’t like this ring for me and had bought a new one from a different jewellers. When she tried to return the ring in store they said they couldn’t because it was ordered online. My partner phoned customer service who stated that you can return in store after buying online. My partner then decided to to return to a different store who, again, stated that it could not be returned in store. My partner then phoned customer service again, speaking to a different person who said that you can return in store. On top of all of that, my partner was patronised in one of the stores with them telling her she didn’t understand the process and that they were “short staffed” so there was “nothing we can do”. Three separate complaints have been filed and we are waiting on feedback. And, of course, we still have the ring...
We were married 4 years ago. Prior to the wedding we took a trip to Edinburgh where we selected two rings from the Princess St jewelers- one gold with a white gold trim and the other white gold with a gold trim, which was neater for my wife. They were sold as a pair and collectively cost around £700. Being not from Edinburgh we arranged the engraving and returned the next week to collect. When we returned it became clear that they’d engraved the wrong ring for me - a completely different, lighter, rounded ring that I would never have selected. They attempted to refute my argument, but the two clearly didn't match . They reluctantly had a look around for something else and offered me another ring that was close to the one I had originally asked for, although the colour difference between the gold and trim was almost imperceptible, which kind of ruined the effect I was after. They claimed the alternative ring was more expensive, but would give me it at the same price. I noticed that it seemed to be scuffed on the inside. The guy said he couldn’t see anything wrong with it, which was staggering - I’m usually pretty laid back about these kind of things and didn’t really mind THAT much, but there were clearly two discolored patches on inside that I could see with my naked eye. A professional Jeweler's eye for detail could not have failed to notice them. Like I say, I didn’t really mind but to try and deny what I could see with my own eyes was cheeky to say the least. Anyway, they reckoned the engraving process would clear things up. We were leaving to marry abroad the next week so agreed and left the place happy enough. When we returned a day prior to flying out the rings were ready, however the prominent scuffing which you could describe as more of a patchy discoloration of the metal on the inside was still there, but so they agree to fix it when we returned. After a great wedding we returned and I popped in to inquire about the cleaning. At first they denied offering any assurance, then they reluctantly agreed to take a look. Unfortunately we live in the far North of Scotland and would be unable to collect it if the work couldn’t be done that day, which, of course, it couldn’t. However, they agreed to send the ring up to Aberdeen on completion, which was helpful of them and sounded like a plan. They gave me the appropriate paper work and took the ring. Two weeks later my father-in-law collected the ring at their Aberdeen shop and had brought it back for us. It was exactly the same! Nothing had been done, the odd, solder-like marks were still there and that was that. I asked a mate of mind to look at it, who’s a bit of a watch specialist and he pointed out that there were actually tiny initials underneath our inscription! just behind the 13 in the attached photo you can see the letters N.F. It’s difficult not to conclude that they’d fobbed me off with a returned ring with the engraving buffed/burnt out. I went back to the Aberdeen branch and they said I’d have to take it up with the Edinburgh lot. After that I gave up. To be honest I quite like the ring, but whenever I take it off which is rarely and have a look at the inscription I always feel a pang of regret that I didn’t pursue the matter further. I guess after 4 years there’s not much I can do, other than share my experience and let folk make of it what they will. Needless to say I wouldn’t be recommending these guys to anyone in the future.
Got a watch from here which didnt work. took it back and it got a replacement which had a number on face face come loose in a matter of days. got another replacement and there dust in the face it's supposed to be waterproof
The staff here are brilliant, very friendly and helpful. Ended up buying the wedding rings from here while living in London because the service/experience was just sooo much better!
