I am extremely disappointed with the way the council has handled my council tax account. Despite making a payment of £1,000 and actively trying to resolve the balance, my attempts to reinstate my Direct Debit were rejected due to faults in the council’s own system,wating for long periods of time on the phone,repeatedly putting the phone down on me and refusing to get a supervisor to deal with my accout even attempted to pay the outstanding balance of £1,538.20 in full, but the online system would not accept payment.nnInstead of offering me a fair opportunity to resolve the matter, the council escalated my account to enforcement agents Marston’s, who are now demanding an inflated amount of £2,926.42. This is not only disproportionate but also deeply unfair when I was willing and trying to pay directly.nnThe council has failed to respond to my correspondence in the time promised, has refused to work with me to agree a reasonable payment arrangement, and has shared my personal data with third parties without giving me the chance to settle the arrears myself.nThis experience has left me with no confidence in the council’s ability to manage accounts fairly, transparently, or lawfully.nThis will be escalated to ICO,Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman.
The new slimline bin collection doesn't work for our family. As conscientious recyclers, we follow the rules every week. Can't fit everything recyclable in the blue bin and new rules regarding sacks and blue boxes means a journey to the nearest Dump every couple of weeks. Thanks EFDC
This is not a democratic well run local Government institution. Residents are effectively banned from expressing their concerns. Services are very few and badly run.nThe Council seems to be run by and employ incompetent people, but this doesn’t stop them from paying themselves well. I wonder what it feels like to take taxpayers’ money and not doing a half decent job?
Incompetent liars, make sure you keep all receipts as they make false claims but when proof is shown they blame computer errors. You get different answers from different people for the same question and that's if you are lucky to get through to someone on the phone. The roads are dirty and paths full of dog waste. This area used to be nice until the pandemic hit and new people moved in changing it too fast. Are you on the housing waiting list ? If so don't get your hopes up especially if on band c waiting for a 2 bedroom property. The wait will be many years as the new system which isn't fair at all don't care how long you been on the list it only care about your medical needs. The system they had before the change was much better but now you are punished for not having a medical issue. It don't matter to them if you have a adult sharing with a room with a child under the age of 10,Apparently that's fine. Just for context we have been bidding for a 2 bedroom properties for 12 years and NOT ONCE have we come in the top 20 position. Massive changes are needed at this council they are stuck in the past.
A Christmas Miracle!nI was contacted by Karen Smith from the housing/rent department, who informed me that I had been overpaying my rent for some time as I had become a pensioner and was now in receipt of housing benefit, and was now entitled to have that overpayment refunded!nKaren Smith, you are my Christmas Angel. I am about to have my first stress free Christmas in years!nKaren was so polite and helpful. Such an asset to your team.nMerry Christmas
