We were invited to our friends whom have a caravan on Epperstone Caravan Park to visit them for the day. It was a lovely warm day and they told us to bring our dog Lucky with us. They love him to bits. Billy picked us up to save us getting 2 busses as we don't drive and it's situated at the top end of Humberstone Avenue. It's nearly opposite The Trawler Man restaurant and pub. Beach Comber caravan site is nearly next door and there's a shop called Tickety Boo next to it and a fish shop next door the other side which is handy for the campers if they don't feel like cooking. There's a long lane down as you drive in with caravans on either side. The gardens are immaculate. We parked up , went up the steps on the veranda and went in their van. Bills wife Carol soon had the kettle on and we sat down on their beautiful suite. We were soon having biscuits and cake. It was lovely and sunny and she shut the blinds as it was like a green house in there. Our coates soon come off , and Lucky our Shih Tzue was soon laid munching on a treat we gave him. After a drink of water out of his collapsible bowl. We had a great afternoon catching up with each others news as we live in Grimsby and they live in Doncaster. We got there about twelve o'clock and stopped untill five when Billy insisted he'd drive us home, instead of getting a bus or taxi. It ended a brilliant day out but we always enjoy and look forward to seeing them both. It's a shame that they will be closing the van down next week as the seasons coming to an end. I think it's open for ten months but the other side is Epperstone residential site where you can live all year. We used to have caravans but there not built for winter months. They're cold and costs a bomb in gas bottles and the condensation is terrible on the windows. Well roll on next year when we can see our friends again.
Lovely well run site .
Very peaceful quite lots of birds,. Very friendly sitexxx
Loved staying here people so frendly
We'd been looking for ages for a site that suited our requirements and this ticks all the boxes. The site doesn't sell caravans and you can't bring your own on. You buy one from one of the owners, whomever is selling theirs at the time and there's always 1 or 2 for sale. Just go to office and look in window at stuff for sale. Although bare in mind some may have already been sold but cards not been taken down. Also the office is only open Saturday from 9am till 1pm - That's it. Lol. You could try calling but we found they never answer. Best advice is to walk round the site and look for for sale signs in windows. Also ask about. In fact when we did this people came to us. The site is so friendly and people noticed we were strangers looking round and asked if they could help. They always know if ones up for sale. The office also want a transfer fee but it's just £600 and some caravan owners pay it for you. The people are very friendly and because you're not allowed to rent it out you become familiar with people and you get no loud idiots having all night parties getting drunk and disorderly. It's friends and family only. Our rent now is 2.8. Only down side is it shuts for 5 month from end of October and reopens April. We love it!
Live travelling back in time. The newest caravan on the site must be 40 years old
lovely quiet site
Peace & quiet in an upcoming area. A great bolt - hole. A great position with a good Chip shop at the top of the lane & bus stops whether you want to go further into Cleethorpes or Grimsby.
Very nice place for all young and old. 5 minutes from beach and a very good bus service into cleethorpes i love my time here
Nice n quiet, dodge the local gossip yvonne like the plague tho......
