Initially shown to a table very close to the rear near the accessible toilet which in itself was not a problem but was the main route through for the staff meaning I was regularly leaning inwards as they brushed past me. Our server readily moved us and admitted she agreed it was a terrible table. Food order taken but delivery was very slow. We had the mixed shared starter which was excellent. However things rapidly declined with my choice of the paella which was inedible. A very curious combination of overcooked stodgy rice vs. a fair bit of undercooked crunchy rice. The mussels were overcooked beyond recognition and the seasoning was non existent. My husband's dish was better but overall a really disappointing experience. The staff seemed totally rushed off their feet and coping as best they could, they were very friendly and deducted the poor dish from our bill without any question. Sadly we won't be back.
Visited Sunday afternoonnnThis place is in a great location and had an amazing atmosphere so we very happy when first arriving.nnIt took a very long time to get our drinks order, almost 20 minutes before we got a drink.nnWhat really let this place down was my meal, I ordered a medium rare sirloin steak. First one arrived not just well done but completed cremated and looked like the scrag end of a bit of flank steak. If it was sirloin it was small and thin and so completely cremated that you would never know. Anyway, the server promptly took away with no complaints to bring me a new one.nnWhat returned in honestly was a lot better cooked but it was a miserable excuse for sirloin steak, it certainly wasn’t the weight I’d paid for and at around £24 it grossly over priced for the pathetic steak I got. And pet peeve from working in the industry, they definitely just replaced the steak and left my food under the hot plate until the new steak was ready. Meaning the food wasn’t fresh and looked a little naff to be honest.nnWhat is astonishing is that a manager actually brought the first steak out, how they thought any of that was acceptable is atrocious.nnI will not be returning to ego, there’s no excuse for it.nnAnnoyed I didn’t take a picture sorry.
Entire experience was amazing in all aspects. Staff were very friendly and efficient. The food was delicious for all 4 meals and really good value on the Wednesday deal. Will definitely return. Thank you
We had a lovely relaxing evening and Dominic was very attentive and pleasant. Although we waited a while for our steaks it was well worth the wait - absolutely beautiful and cooked to perfection for us both. We’ll certainly be back again
The place is very nice and service very nice but unfortunately I would NOT recommend the food , me and my friend ordered paella and we both were very very unhappy, when the waitress came over asked about how our food was we said it wasn't good , she didn't replay with anything apart : Ohh, we left our dish and no refund was applied, no discount, and not even asking if we want to order something else , believe me dish was horrible, after , as we both were still hungry we ordered apple and cinnamon pie , OMG!!!! DISGUSTING!!! Please think twice if you want to visit this place xxx Thank you and good luck x
