What a great pub! Ten mins walk from our house and I have a feeling we’ll be making that journey quite often! Food was superb. We ordered the fish and chips, pizza, home-made pie and chicken burger. All were excellent. Service was superb. Cannot fault anything. Definitely will return.
We had a pre concert meal and were quite disappointed- the food was mediocre at best - I don't think we would go for a meal again. The vegan choice was limited... On a positive, the 2 young men who served us were very nice and helpful.
We were very disappointed with the menu not a chicken dish or lasagna. The menu says pasta and risotto but no risotto on the menu at all. The pizza my husband had margarita was ok but really it would be better to be able to order 8" 10" but there's just 12". The girls who served us were nice that's only good thing we could say about the experience.
Visited today for a sunday lunch after recent re-opening. Very pleasant experience sat in the lounge at the rear. Staff very friendly and the food delicious. I sincerely hope this continues. A beautiful country pub in a lovely setting and a very tasty sunday roast. We will return!
We recently celebrated our wedding at Egerton Arms and I can't thank the owners Ian and Chandra and the staff enough for all the amazing work they did. Organisation was flawless, everything that the chef cooked was first-class, the rooms upstairs were a big plus to lodge some of our guests, and Ian and Chandra welcomed our families like it was theirs. Thanks to their friendliness and the cosy atmosphere of the pub + restaurant, all our guests had a great time and that's all we were hoping for. I can't recommend Egerton Arms highly enough to people looking for a reception venue for their big day.
Food is really good since the new owners have come in. Used to be a really cosy pub many years ago but the previous owners painted over some of the lovely beams WHITE and various other things losing its character, barmy they were. Hopefully the current owners rectify this, as it could be an even more cosier country pub.
Laid back staff, excellent pizza, convenient main road access, very nice surroundings. Why three star? Laid back means laid so far back as to be nearly horizontal. The pizza was a five star, the meat a one star. We split the difference as one bad experience shouldn't ruin a review: I'd be happy to go back and give 'em another try; it was an ok place pre-covid, why not now?
Great food, well prepared and plentyfull, good service and helpful friendly staffRooms: 5/5
Stayed here recently for 2 nights to attend a wedding. Loved it!! Pretty Country pub. Really nice staff. Great views of the lovely Church. Loved it thanks for having us. Also great to see lots of salads avail. I didn't have any kids with me but a wonderful under 12 menu.
