A public research university located in the heart of Edinburgh. The university has multiple campuses. This particular location is close to Haymarket train station, just a 20-25 minute walk away. The university building is equipped with modern facilities. The canteen, located in the basement, serves delicious food.
Parking is tricky and can get expensive. The buildings are functional but not particularly pretty. The staff and students are very friendly and welcoming.

Best modern university in Scotland. Good and friendly professor's as well as staff. Enjoying my study time there. You get chance to participate in a lot of activities. You will always find someone to support you in all the aspects of your student journey. You will get a good combination of lectures and practicals involved in your studies. Best of luck for your future. A lot of options for masters students available to do PhD.
A great place to study with lots of helpful and friendly staff. As other reviewers have noted the 24 hour computer centre is the best feature with the 24 hour section of the library being a close second if you need to study during term time in a quiet place. Good bus links and mix of cafes of varying price levels just around the corner from the university. Just missing one star because during the Easter/Exam period the university gets quite crowded and the bathroom facilities etc. become unpalatable. Avoid during that time. But otherwise lovely the rest of the year.
Come see Merchiston Tower, the castle like 16th century home of John Napier, the inventor of logarithms who lends his name to the uni. There's public access to the Tower which is preserved within the uni grounds, albeit to the exterior interior is students and uni staff members only.
It's a real uni, for real students. The main facilities are open 24/7 all year holidays slightly change and teachers are the best. I learnt more in one year here than in three years away. Really practical, great service and helpful staff.
