I have fond memories of this place when I was little and now with a year pass I have been taking my 2 year old (nearly 3 now) daughter frequently as it's a 5 min drive from home. She loves it and it great to learn about the animals/reptiles/insects. She absolutely loved holding the millipede and touching the python. The staff are all really helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended for children of all ages and adults.

This is a great day out for the family. My little boy who is 4 lives this place, you can handle (If you want) snakes, spiders and different bugs and insects. They have feeding time too where the kids get to see all the animals feeding. Recommended. 👌

Just amazing. I held a tarantula and touched a snake. I saw different kinds of reptiles and insects and fish, but I was taken away by all the different butterflies flying all free across this lovely nature-driven venue. A little piece of paradise ideal not only for kids but for grown-ups like me who appreciate life and living beings looked after and in a safe environment. Highly recommend it if in Edinburgh!

Brilliant place, well priced. Relaxed atmosphere, open air butterflies, sometimes even land on your hand. Small poultry wander about on the floor and the animal handling sessions are fab with really engaged staff letting even the smalest kids hold giant millipedes, snakes, tarantulas, frogs etc. Thoroughly recommend it for a day out.

This little setup is quite the mesmerising place to go to, don't let the title fool you as insect world most of the "insects" are butterflies and there are a lot of them roaming freely as you walk towards your next area, if you are a fan of butterflies you will love it here you can find butterflies as big as your hand and even bigger, but also there are some hidden ones that are small and not so out going, you are free to look around and if one lands on you you are free to hold it in your hand, (just don't hurt them). Sadly as this is an open area and kids tend to be careless some the butterflies get caught in this and are left lying on the ground, so be careful. It is a really great place to visit would recommend to anyone.
