A fine local museum and good facility for the community
Go with your kids or grandchildren. Theres a small but enchanting mix of steam age memorabilia, with well-informed commentary from the heart of a railway community. Nice bit of fixed down brio keeps my grandsons happy for ages. There are also temporary arts / crafts shows in the rear-most gallery usually to a theme with wide range of interpretation, skill levels and painterly values for your delectation.
Nice museum. Like that they have some toys in there for children to play with. Nice little shop. Didn’t give it 5 star because the display at the front of the museum has been the same for about 25 years, shame it can’t be changed regularly!
A wonderful experience. An ideal place to learn about the history of Eastleigh and its significant place in railway history. They make excellent tea and coffee, too!
Warm and welcoming local museum with permanent display of Eastleigh's railway heritage and temporary exhibitions by local organisations. Hot drinks and snacks, local produce, publications, cards, etc, for sale.
Celebrates Eastleigh as a railway town, plus exhibitions by Hampshire Cultural Trust. Hot drinks, snacks and locally produced honey, jam, birthday cards, etc for sale.
Used to spend all my time here as a child. Still pretty good today! The purple is a nice touch
Lovely Christmas Tree exhibition on at the moment in December, also fab for a quiet drink and ponder round the exhibits
It would help if it was actually open when their website said it would be! There was no explanation why it was closed on the locked door.
Really lovely voulenteers to help you and some really good displays around about eastleighs history
