We are an established, local small animal veterinary practice that is proud to provide a professional caring service to the people and animals of Bury St Edmunds, Thetford, Mildenhall and surrounding areas, as it has done for over 70 years.

From your first visit to one of our surgeries it will become apparent how highly we value our personal relationships with owners and pets. So commercial and lacking empathy. My dog was extremely stressed, shaking and whining whilst we were waiting for our appointment, at that point running 30 minutes late. Whilst waiting there was no communication with or explanation from any staff member even though she was visibly distressed. On asking if I could take a very small treat from the jar to try to calm her I was told I would have to pay. My new vets are the polar opposite, incredibly empathetic throughout, sitting on the floor stroking my dog whilst discussing the various options for treatment. There it is all about the pet, not the bottom line.
Been with Eastgate since living in Thetford from 2017 till 2022 they were brilliant with my dog Dyson who had been neutered they were constantly in contact with me though out his time there staff are caring helpful and friendly too it seems so is the bury st Edmunds branch is as moving bk to bury in 2022 Dyson and narla are bk on there register about to add my 8 week old puppy also
We said goodbye to our beloved terrier today. I cannot express how kind, sensitive and empathetic all of the staff at Bury Eastgate vets were today, the receptionists, nurses and Radley, but Alex was a complete angel. Her compassion for my husband and I at such a traumatic and sad moment was beyond anything I’ve experienced at any other surgery during my 45 years of dog ownership. Alex, you are an angel and made the whole terrible experience more bearable, thankyou x
Always a pleasure to visit. The vets always make me feel like they've enjoyed entertaining my slightly crazy labrador and seem to enjoy their work. It's a really fab, warm and friendly place to be.
We have been using Eastgate for over 20 years. Everyone there is very friendly, polite and professional. The vets are very knowledgeable and have always put us at ease when needed. I would never want to go anywhere else and I highly recommend Eastgate Vets in Bury St. Edmunds.
A great place that is clean, tidy and very well organised. My normally arrogant and aloof cat who truly believes that the world is made up of staff and prey feels so at home here he almost fell asleep on his last visit and my first due to pandemic restrictions. All the staff are welcoming and highly professional and I am 100% confident that my little bundle of laziness is in the best hands which is what we all want for our furry and feathered companions. 10/10 and 5 gold stars every time!
Very efficient and friendly service as always when I take my dogs for routine check ups and inoculation. Good scheme whereby you get worm tablets and yearly inoculations for a modest monthly fee, so nothing to pay at the time of the visit. Recommended.

Eastgate vets have always gone above about beyond for my pets. They have looked after my family pets and my own pets consistently for years. They always listen to me about the needs of my pets all rescues and never had an issue getting an appointment. Couldn’t recommend the practice more.
