This is by far the nicest, tastiest chinese I have tried in a long, long time. The food was really cheap and reasonable in price. I got plenty for my money as well as free prawn crackers and a free fortune cookie. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The curry sauce was delicious. This is by a mile the nicest chinese takeaway in Wallsend. I would rate this a 5 star and recommend others to try this one.
We hadn't used this place for a long time. We got a takeaway on Christmas Eve when it was very busy. The food was prepared while we waited for about 30 minutes. What we had was really nice and we will be using them again.Food: 5/5
Have used East Garden for over 20 years. I don't know if they have changed chef and/or owner but Our order last night took 1 hour 15 mins to arrive. On arrival the food was warm and soggy with oil. Definitely not up to the regular standard re food and delivery. Not so sure I'd be happy to use again which is a shame after all these years.
Update: 29/05/2020: Another delicious Friday night feast from East Garden. The food was delivered quickly, lovely and fresh and piping hot. They had ran out of the chicken dumplings but I received a phone call from them and all was rectified without any problems. Great level of customer service and great food. Their website to order through is also good as well. Keep up the good work guys! Older Review 01/03/2020: Second meal from East Garden tonight and we really enjoyed it. Fantastic flavour, with lots of nice meat and veg. Also delivered much earlier than expected. Five stars. Older Review 24/12/2019: Delicious and plentiful food delivered earlier than anticipated, being Christmas eve. The only thing I would say is that the quality of the chicken needs to improve. Tasted cheap. But would definitely order again.
Found this little takeaway last year handy on my way home working late food nice and cheaper than others. Vegetarian options: Plenty options on the menu as I am vegetarian myself.
We were lucky to win a Munch Box through a competition. Ordered it tonight and it was very nice. Loads of food. Our favourites were the chips, ribs and salt and chilli chicken. It’s the first time We have had food from here and would go back.
I cannot say any more about my disappnment in the meal we picked up tonight. I've used this take away for years ,, tonight's was disgusting I can't believe how much this take away has went down £ 25 for the worst meal imaginable,,, I will welcome any feedback from the owners, but have to say to Any one reading this stear clear..
Gave 1 star as couldn't give 0. Just got a chicken and cashew nut for my daughter and no sooner had she eaten it she's thrown it back up. Luckily she only had 2 pieces of chicken think we'd be at rake Lane if she'd ate more. Give it a miss
Quite possibly the worse Chinese takeaway I've ever had. I ordered Cantonese sweet and sour chicken, and whilst the sauce was fine the chicken was pretty much inedible. Overlooked/reheated to the extent I couldn't actually cut through it with a standard knife. Rice tasted okay but was visibly reheated as the rice towards the edge of the container was crispy/dried out. Will never order again.
We have ordered every Sunday for the last 2 months, recommended by a friend. The food is hot and freshly cooked when we collected. We have enjoyed every meal we have had.
