It is a local NHS community hospital which provides: 13 beds for frail elderly patients 16 elderly mental health beds 24 medium-acute beds staffed by local GPs 24-place day hospital 28,000-capacity outpatient facility rehabilitation facilities social work team a community dental practice. It was built as a Public-Private Partnership project, announced in 2000.
