Huge selection of materials from pressure treated timbers to sheet materials, mouldings and hard and softwoods of many types and sizes. Quality of materials always higher than chain stores and usually priced better as well. Staff very knowledgeable. Set up as a working yard with an office to pay in, rather than a retail space. Support independent businesses!
Dead handy for boaters if you need ply as has Riverside access. They can cut a sheet length ways, but not cross ways. But you have to ask nicely! Reasonable prices.
Very helpful staff. Even helped to ratchet strap some timber to my roof rack. The yard is a bit tight especially when I visited as there were four other customers and two artics with deliveries vying for space.
Great wood yard! I live on a narrowboat so I like to use hardwood for bits and bobs, these guys have it, and if they don't have it they'll cut it for you. I think I would have paid the same price for some curly wurly pine in one of the big sheds too so it's a win win.
I needed one plank of planed oak for a windowsill and was a bit reluctant to go to this place as it has the appearance of somewhere only trade would go but couldn't have been more wrong. I was made very welcome and shown the different options I had and all this for a great price too. Great customer service.
Really great plywood, by far the best quality that I’ve had from the local area, and for PEFC / FSC was fantastic. Would highly recommend. Also fantastic access for boaters / boatbuilders.
