Located in a great spot on York Road, consistently great quality food. I always get the same sandwich bacon sausage and egg but we regularly buy for oir lunch at work. This place might genuinely be the best sandwich shop I've been to - ten out of ten recommended.

Popped in when walking passed, my first time. Offered everything you would expect from a bakers and more. Few indoor and outdoor seats, with a ramp to get into shop for wheels! Good choice of breads, pastries, cakes, etc. and hot/ cold drinks to go with them. Very small selection of vegan items! Clean/tidy and staff very friendly/chatty.

I have been going to this bakery for years and years and years buying their gorgeous breads.  My sons eat this bread like sweeties.! And when their mates come round they help themselves too! So whatever is in the bread...... thank you Gilchrist's! We all love it in our family especially the well done bests. It's the 'bready Mc breadface' of  bread...

Just ordered and its normally nice but this time sausage tasted really weird like it wasn't pork or something. Bacon was super chewy and egg yolks was hard

Proper old school bakery , sarnies are the best in town too , as for the pies just quality and the bread is perfect not like those breads that are just full of air. Highly recommend this place

Fresh baked goods at good prices and lovely sandwiches

Beautiful little bakery just on york road best breakfast sarnies about, the ladies behind the counter are so polite an helpful service is incredible! Also the cake an bun selection is perfect and hot drinks to go always look forwsrd to going through the week for breakfast

Over priced sandwich that turned up with soggy bread falling appart  ..and standard quality items inside... on a serious note I could of got the same sized sandwich from another store  for half the price

Decent enough sandwiches but well overpriced.

Can’t find the opening times on the official website anywhere , so you check multiple things on google few say 6 and a few say 7 then u proceed to walk round and it doesn’t open till 8 so had to go to greggs great  bacon and sausage what I got from there not , Gilchrist sandwiches = 10/10 gilchrist business management like my *************
