Bit hilly to get to, but the views once outside across the cathedral are breathtaking. Station itself is well maintained, the signs and paths are very clear for travelers. The announcements and the screens are also very informative. Trains are mostly on time.
Usually great service but closing the doors 2 minutes prior to departure then stopping people from getting on the trains when the doors are still open is frankly ridiculous. Then to proceed to gaslight public that it was actually 30 seconds before departure. This has happened on two occasions personally with the same young male member of staff. Extremely unpleasant experience. .. all other staff is helpful and kind and does a great job, I am a regular commuter and I'm glad to say this has just happened on two occasions, even when I admit I have ran late, just a shame one person ruins it all.
Village currently with several Universities and students from all over the world. Castle and Park Green is now student housing, can you imagine!? A lot of live sports watching pubs. Pretty river, bridge, castle view.
Nice place to be, hilly area.
A beautiful small town - a bit like a mini York! Love the old cobbled streets and beautiful riverside walk. Would book a table if you plan on eating here in the evenings as every bar and restaurant we went into was packed!
