Amazing place, well worth a visit. It is free to visit but they do suggest a £3 donation. When you walk around there is an amazing serenity. If you want there are guided tours or you can make your own way. There is a cloister for you to visit too....as well as a shop and restaurant. Oh and to end it all a Lego version to walk around too.

Lovely place to leisurely walk about and soak in the history. Have been here quite a few times. Best times have been when it is sunny and during a weekend. The streets are lively. It does get a bit overcrowded when events are on (such as the Lumiere). Photographing is not allowed inside.

Absolutely love this place. It's amazing. There is so much to explore, such a sense of peace. Entry to the main body is by donation only and they're not pushy about that either. There is also open treasures which there is a charge for. I'd recommend checking it out for a service too the music and choirs are amazing.

A must-see building for any visitor to the North East - without labouring the obvious, can be personally affecting standing inside taking in the magnitude of the space and the solemnity of its purpose. Don’t forget to go beyond the main Cathedral sanctuary into what I believe were the monks cloisters - beautiful quadrangle to read in and gardens/quiet streets beyond.
