There was plenty of parking as we were the only ones there. A map of the area is provided but a little confusing once you get going. Very boggy/wet land to walk through. A dog waste bin would have been nice.
Overcast by time I got there but looked a pretty well maintained reserve. Would like to go back on a sunny day. Ample free parking space. Boarded walkway to two fields. Had to stop there because it started to rain. Will add some photos but looks reasonably worthwhile if you like nature walks.
Lovely unspoiled reserve. Clear paths through woods and fields. Lots of cows! Follow Google maps to car park. You need to open latched gate to access and drive down short narrow lane. Didn’t see a soul.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Free car park on gravel blink and you will miss the entrance. Then a boarded and wire mesh walk through wooded glade . This leads to an open wild meadow with plenty of wild flora, fauna and livestock on very uneven surface suitable for walkers only. If you follow the path indicated at the car park you will then be able to walk along a diss used canal. Plenty of photo opportunities. Dog friendly, no dog waste bins. The gate was closed but just needed to be unlatched to drive through and relatched again. Follow the track down to a grassy carpark. Probably space for about a dozen cars. Then follow the boardwalk down to a field. In late March 2022 it was too wet to reach the bridge over the canal. We found ourselves jumping from one clod to another as the field was marshy. The dog enjoyed having a good sniff around though. Will return later in the year when it has dried out a bit.
No tickets required. A bit out of the way, but nice walk along the old Bude aqueduct.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Nice area to walk around. Even after dry weather there was an uneven cattle-trodden muddy path to walk down. Walking along the disused canal was the highlight.
Great natural area, very wet, so waterproof shoes are a must. Good car park area, and clear signs. Enjoy!
I came here with my mum and 2 kids, the description slightly overshoots the actual location. To be honest it was a little creepy! We walked up and down the path and left
What waste of time & fuel, gate was locked. Don't waste your time folks.
