Lovely atmosphere with great ales. Do lots in the evenings for good fun night out. Great food all day also.
Nice pub! God awfull view, it's nice that a " Local" still exists in Hertford.I first drank here 1975 and i'm still alive, must be in the water.New managment hence price rise.
A nice friendly atmosphere. We visited on a Saturday night, the music was not too loud, unlike some other bars in the area, there is a good selection of gin and the customers and staff seemed friendly and welcoming
Great spacious open planned bar. Very clean serves food at reasonable prices. And has the bonus of having a fantastic large garden with decking and brilliant seating with parasols.
It's now called the Hertford Bell and it is one of the best pubs in Hertford believe me beautifully decorated and refurbished it is brilliant and the barman and manager are excellent you must experience it you will love it
The food here is actually pretty good, and it does have a welcoming vibe. I used to go to their quiz night every Thursday and thoroughly enjoyed it, but after the guy running the quiz left, a series of inept quizmasters followed, and a ton of people stopped going. I feel I would go back if that was sorted.
Came here for a Sunday roast as I’d been told it was really good. It was even better than expected! Nice big portions and food was fresh and tasty. The staff were also very pleasant and polite. Will be back next week
Great meet up place with good beer and no hassle
Food was good but was a bit slow in getting to our table. Two of the people in our group ordered last and got their food first. We understand it was a new chef. Perhaps he will improve with time
