Least helpful folk I've ever had the displeasure of talking to. Utterly pointless. Outdated and utterly useless. Been calling since 8am and all I get is a message saying "sorry we're closed. Open Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm." Why are you not open? Convenient that the only service available automatically is the payment service. You all clearly don't give a hoot about anyone. We fund you with our wages!
It has taken this total shambles of a local authority, 2 years to sort my Council Tax out! They could confirm that my claim and relevant paperwork where sitting in the office, waiting to be processed. Yet, they had the audacity, to send my Council tax debt, to a debt collector, Stirling Park. A debt of nearly 2000 pound, I actually owed 73 pound . As soon as I received a debt collector letter, I responded, I argued my case , told them of the total ineptitude of this so called Council. I agreed to pay 10 pound a month. As I was told I may need to pay towards my water bill. On 27/1/23, I finally received my corrected 3 years worth of bills , I had only owned the place, since 27/1/21!. I paid the outstanding sum to Stirling Park. On the 9/2/22 my ESA was reduced. I called into the council spoke to a very rude woman called Shirley and was firstly told that they had not claimed on my ESA, despite DWP telling me they had. Then, I received a call from a very smug , sarcastic woman, apparently a senior female member of staff, with a huge chip on her shoulder! Telling me , I was basically telling lies about my 30 pound payment , that the order of deductions from from ESA would stand in place until 14/4/23. All of this nonsense for 30 quid!!!!! I have sent a copy of my direct payments to Stirling Park. I do not lie, never accuse me of being a liar. I have paid the in debt of 73 pounds!! Please stand up to these bullies. They are fighting me for 30 pound. 30 pound that has already been paid to Stirling Park. I sent a screen shot of all my bank payments. I do not lie. Please do not cower down to these utter bullies. Contact your MP. Let's expose this corruption and total ineptitude. This Council is a total shambles of aggression, sarcasm and total unprofessionalism. You all need handing you P45s. Shame on you, you are a disgrace. The only decent person, I have spoken to, is, Oldham Andrew. He is truly professional and an utter star. Keep calling until you get to speak to this angel. Everyone else is , work shy, really argumentative and are wanting a fight. This is stress , vulnerable people do not need in their already difficult lives. This stress could have caused me a heart attack or a stoke. Shame on you, you're an utter disgrace.
This review is for a delightful, Oldham chap by the name of Andrew. After , calling in and being met by people with massive attitude problems. I called again and had the absolute pleasure of speaking to this utter angel Andrew. He was so kindly, helpful , friendly and professional. I told him of the issues I was facing regarding, poorly managed council tax it took D&G, 2 years worth of letters to sort my council tax out! and subsequent illegal deductions. Andrew appears to be the only individual working and serving the public, at Dumbgal council. Please promote this kindly dear soul to a Director. He is utterly exceptional and a total delight. Thank you Andrew, after dealing with your feral colleagues, you where a breath of fresh air. Please promote this chap , he knows how to deal with people. Andrew, runs rings around the rest of the staff , I have had the utter misery of speaking to. Other staff sound like they got out of bed and where gunning for a fight each and every day. I have never known such massive attitude problems. I have worked for local authority all my career.i can tell you apart from Andrew, the rest of the staff need to be sacked ! I would never have got away with such aggressive and poor conduct. More to the point , I looked after my clients and did my job. Great to know dear Andrew is the only decent chap , I have dealt with. The rest need their P45s Andrew you are an absolute star, thank you so very much. I am very grateful for your work in solving my issue. The Brummie wench
Absolute garbage. Waste of time. They ignore my emails. Money grabbers. £72 a month and I'm on benefits meanwhile my relatives with similar circumstances are only paying £3 a fortnight. That's a lot of money for food, gas/electric, especially in these hard times. They're taking a lend while I'm in a vulnerable state of mind. I have finally cancelled my direct debit today. That'll soon get their attention. Do your worst. I'll just off myself if you try to take me to prison then you won't get no more money will you? Do you see what this council is capable of?? Driving people to the brink. I WILL NOT BE TREAD ON DO YOU HEAR?
1.The worst ever council I have ever dealt with . 2.I run a car wash in Lochmaben, I have closed since December due to currant COVID-19 situation, I have applied for a grant in January, I have been asked to provide supporting documents , on two to three occasions I provided them with everything they asked for they wasted 5 weeks of my time then came back to me today to say your application was rejected.telling me that my business is not entitled this was after 5 weeks of wasting my time and asking for documents. 3.Trading standard officer has written to me to say there is nothing to stop you to operate, then I receive another call from Environmental health telling me that I can not open the business, I really do feel there is no connection between staff at Dumfrise and Galloway council staff and we are being being told different rules and regulation each time you speak to staff.
If Carlsberg did council then this council would be sacked. Corrupt to the core and don't actually care what the public they serve want. Had more back handers under the table than the Mafia. Everything D&G council touch falls apart. Bad decision after bad decision. Never the Council's fault in the eyes of the council. In 1770 D&G council made some rules and they have not been altered since. Old fashioned and not with the times. If there was a 0 star option trust me they would have it.

The worst council ever. No one knows what they doing.people are being given wrong information and they waste your time . Any application you make they try to do their best to make thing very difficult . Staff needs to be trained better. The council leader really needs to step in and be aware of what’s happening.
Appalling service, Goods booked and paid for to be collected on 26th August 2021 . This was not done !! Phoned early 27th NO REPLY. Unable to get office opening hours. In all I rate the service as ZERO, To think of the high council tax we pay .!!!!!
Hi Question! Why are the council carers working without masks, gloves, or aprons, the government told us frontline staff would have all the protection from this virus they needed! So why are these carers being left out???
