I would like to say another enormous thanku to Mary Cole at the social work office in Irish Street. What a kind lady! We had been to 3 council offices in Dumfries, as I was trying to find out about a disabled parking bay being painted onto the road outside of our flat....All of the offices were closed but a lovely young lady at one office said we needed to go to the social work office in Irish St. I had actually filled in the necessary form on my phone, and sent it off about 4 times! I was extremely frustrated, as I didn't know if it had gone through. Anyway, Mary was so helpful, she printed off the form again, plus gave me a copy of my V3 & a photocopy of my blue badge AND an envelope. So I duly filled it all in again, put it in the envelope, drove up to Council offices, road works department,. Out of the car....OFFICE CLOSED DUE TO COVID!!! Did u hear me swear? I did, and very loudly. SO, back home, put all of the paperwork into the envelope and spent £6.00 odd sending it by recorded delivery, as by this time I wanted to make sure it arrived, to post the blasted thing. At this rate I could have painted the blasted thing myself!! Here's hoping they get the letter & I get the parking bay painted....
Social services are not much use some of them don't know the civil rules they show no compassion they need to learn how to do their jobs property
The social worker do not have no power to remove any children from the parents
They do not act on concerns raised and dismiss what you tell them.
