Excellent bed and breakfast. Friendly hosts Nick and Karen set a very high standard. Rooms and facilities are very well maintained, with comfortable bedding and numerous thoughtful yet unobtrusive touches - a torch by the door for dark nights, or a home-made cake with the beverage tray. Internet speed is modern, with your breakfast option prepared fresh and in my case piping hot at the time I needed. Locally guests will find the setting quite appealing, and very peaceful at night. A small store in the village is just around the corner, whilst various dining options can be found but after a short ten minute drive so perfect for catching on the way in and out of excursions. Having stayed in various places locally these last few weeks, I would definitely recommend and stay here again.
· We stayed here for a wedding and the rooms were well set up, very comfortable. Rooms have their own outside doors which means you can come and go easily whatever time of day. The location is set in a beautiful village with quirky houses! The owners of the BnB were so helpful and lovely people to chat to, went above and beyond for us on a particularly hot weekend. Breakfast was delicious and catered for my vegetarian needs brilliantly. Fresh cake, milk and coffee were put in our room daily which was such a nice touch, the cake was delicious Karen! Homemade jams on offer as well. The area was quiet and very relaxing, would 100% stay here again. Thank you Karen and Nick, we had a relaxing, comfortable stay!
Fab stay at The Duke William! Can’t fault anything, the room was spotless, Nick and Karen were lovely ,the cake was delicious and the breakfasts divine! They both tried their upmost to cater for my gluten/dairy intolerance despite not giving them prior notice and I am extremely grateful. Also be sure to try every flavour of jam, they are all homemade and delicious! We will be back :
Lovely stay at this b&b. Nick snd Karen are very welcoming. It was as if I'd known them for years. Food was freshly home cooked. Cake in the room each day. The place is spotless. Loved yhe quiet and got a good sleep each night. Would stay again. Rooms: Room is en suite. Comfortable bed snd lovely setting.
Stayed here for night in January. Perfect. Would highly recommend. Very friendly hosts and comfy bed for the night. Delicious homemade cakes in our room too!
Karen and Nick are some of the nicest people I have ever met! Myself and my daughter 2 years old stayed at The Duke William for 2 nights, from arriving to leaving service was first class. A lovely chat upon arrival with a genuine interest in my stay and recommendations on where to eat and a park nearby to entertain my little one. Room was spacious, clean and had a fantastic bed ! Tea, coffee, sugar, milk, kettle and a daily surprise of cakes! Breakfast was yummy, and do try the jam it is the best I have ever had. The Duke William is in a quite village but Harleston is nearby with shops, resturants and pubs are roughly a 15 minute drive away if you dont get lost Will definitely be returning, there is so much to explore and Karen and Nick offer a fantastic place to rest and unwind. Thank you for your hospitality we really enjoyed our stay.
A fantastic find at short notice. Warm welcome from Karen and Nick. Lovely room, clean and fresh with tea and coffee facilities and a little home made treat. Old fashioned breakfast service was just right. Would be back in a heartbeat. ThanksRooms: 5/5
A lovely place I stayed 2 night's, the place was absolutely lovely, it was spacious light and airy, the bed was so comfortable for a good night's sleep, The breakfast was first class and delicious and homemade preserves Karen and Nick are absolutely wonderful hosts, they make you feel very welcome, and I really appreciated my 2 night's stay. I would definitely recommend staying at the Duke William, I certainly will return in the near future. P.S. the home made cake is lovely, thank you both for your hospitality it was brilliant.
What a gem this B&B is. The owners are lovely and nothing is too much trouble, the room was spacious and fresh with built in en suite all on the ground floor, with own external entrance. A full English breakfast is offered along with other options, enough to set you up for the day! I thoroughly recommend this lovely Bed & Breakfast in a lovely village setting. On behalf of Anne Dunn
A lovely comfortable place to stay, clean and tidy room with very friendly and helpful staff. Both Karen and Nick are lovely people and so helpful. Breakfast was delicious and served as promised
