Story

DTC Productions Ltd was formed in 2002. We are a Lincolnshire based company specialising in Youth Theatre Productions and teaching all aspects of theatre to children of all ages. Our teachers are working professionals, with vast experience within the performing arts industry. Our workshops and theatre schools are led by specially trained teachers, using bespoke scripts and project material.

We have spent many years working in schools and in the community, realising the tremendous effect that the arts can have on all children.

In our first year, we provided workshops to schools in the Lincolnshire area, as well as running summer schools in both England and Wales. These are still continuing to run and thrive today.

In 2005 we opened our first theatre school, The Majestic Theatre School Retford and within three months of opening the school was, and still is, running at maximum capacity.

In 2008 we opened the Lincoln Academy of Theatre Arts (LATA), for students aged 14 – 19. We train our students in audition techniques preparing them for drama school and professional auditions, as well as honing their skills in dance, drama and singing. The Academy focuses on students who are looking at pursuing a career within the performing arts sector and gaining the experience and skills required to obtain places at prestigious drama schools in the U.K. Between 2009 and 2011 our students have attained places at RADA, East 15, Mountview, Birds, Guildford School of Acting, MADD, Performers and the Scottish Academy. We have students already working within the profession, including one debuting in the West-End and at The Royal National Theatre.

In 2009 the Majestic Theatre School Lincoln was opened and despite being in a City with numerous and tough competition, the school remains strong with increasing numbers.

Our company continues to explore new ways of bringing the arts and children together, striving always for the highest standards of teaching and learning. Students gain a wide range of benefits: it provides an outlet for self-expression, development of imagination and self-confidence and working with others.

All our staff have enhanced disclosure from the CRB and we adhere to the Home Offices ‘Safe From Harm’ code of practice.
