I'd been avoiding going to The Collection as I erroneously thought you had to pay to get in! It's actually free and an excellent asset to Lincoln. I loved the fact that there were lockers so you could go round without having to deal with child or shopping paraphernalia. I was pleasantly surprised at the exhibits within The Collection, the range kept both adults and children entertained. The play area is great too - could have happily spent a good few hours there.

Great place to visit if you get a chance. Lovely little area for young children to play and learn. They regularly have story times and activities on for young children and guest lectures in discussing different topics in the auditorium. Free to enter but donations are asked for. Lots of things to see, hear and touch well worth a visit.

A must visit with the kids. Prepare to spend at least an hour here. Has cafe, which on the Sunday I visited was very busy (good for them) Free entry, suggested donation £2. Art gallery opposite. Small car park nearby. We parked at new car park next to new bus station and walked (not far) Small shop selling books soft toys, gems , fossils, plastic armour etc. The usual stuff. Building is fairly new... Kids liked the genuine skulls and bits of dead peoples bones on display. Very close to the steep hill which goes up to the Castle and Cathedral. Go visit!

My first time in Lincoln, quite hilly, but beautiful! My friends and I found the Collection as we're going down the hill, at one of the left exits. We came in 30 min before closing but we did manage to still see most of the exhibition, it is a really nice place to spend a rainy afternoon in, with friendly staff!

Love this place! Free to enter with great play area for the under fives and a lovely cafe run by stokes off Lincoln. The archaeology gallery is great and don't miss the Usher Art Gallery next door which is also free.
