It used to be a good Korean restaurant and went to have some Korean fried chicken or K-bbq there. Nice atmosphere and enough space to hang out with friends. Service gets extremely slow around dinner time 6-7pm and might wait an hour or so until all the foods come out. I didn’t mind it and also understandable that kitchen is chaotic with many orders. However, it seems to be getting worse since pandemic. Visited a few times more around 3pm or 8pm to avoid busy time but the food quality is gone worse and worse. Last time we got the fried chicken and it was almost not edible. Overcooked and too chewy. It was definitely not the same quality as before. Very sad to see that they can’t control the quality of food. Pictures were taken in 2020 when it was alright.
Mediocre food and okay staff. The interior was nice, quite industrial and spans two floors. Staff didn’t seem to be happy to be there despite the fact that it was just me and my partner there and another table with a couple on it. So it’s not like they were rushed and it was during the day before the rush. Tried order three different things and being told that each of these things were unavailable. Had to order something we don’t really want. Partner ordered the pork strew and it was good and quite spicy. The boneless chicken was also good but lacked the spice and crispness of proper Korean chicken. I ordered the lunch box and I was incredibly disappointed. Not only do they give you the bare minimum food in the lunch boxes it was just a joke of a meal. The sides were three potatoes, one spoon of kimchi and some egg dish. They didn’t even fill in the spaces properly and the rice was sad and not proper steamed and the meat itself was dry and the salad underneath soggy and the meat to vegetable ratio was also incredibly disappointing. Thought we’d go for a authentic Korean experience but it was anything but, I’d save the money and go to another restaurant
Accidentally found this place and it turned out to be great. All the tables in the restaurant were booked, but we were offered to wait at the bar and after about 30+ minutes our table was ready. We did not mind the wait, but I would suggest to book a table in advance. They have a booking app on their website. The service at the restaurant and the food were amazing. I sincerely recommend this place to anyone who likes Korean food and atmosphere. A separate thank you to our host Fionnán! He 's done everything to make our dinner a great experience.
I've been twice in the last couple of months. Overall it was good, but both times there were issues with the food. The first time, my bulgogi had great flavour, but arrived lukewarm. The second time, my bibimbap, while popping hot unlike the bulgogi from last time, tasted very bland and the rice was quite overcooked. Mishaps with the food aside, it's pleasant. It looks decent, good prices, good portions, nice view of the street outside, and the staff were fine, definitely not as bad as they sound in some of the reviews. They even let us stay a little past closing time. I'd give it a 3rd try and hope the food won't have something wrong it next time; if not, then off to find another Korean restaurant.
We had ordered Set C 5 people and it’s sufficient to be shared among six of us. The Korean bbq is very valuable as you can order 5 types of meat of your own choice & 7 types of side dishes of your own choice. €85 for set c is worthy! Jjajangmyeon is authentic but jjampong & honey garlic chicken were still okay for us. If it wasn’t for these two dishes, I would rate it 5/5. Good service & friendly staffs :
I went there twice and had such a great time! Everyone was super nice and the food was delicious! I ordered the fried prawns, kimchi pancakes, crispy fried chicken, jajangmyeon, sweet potatoes noodled and I tried Soju for the first time I highly recommend getting some, they have so many flavors to choose between! Overall, it was a nice experience and the atmosphere was great because they were playing K-pop!
NOT the experience i was looking for. After hearing so much from korean food. I have to say i was pretty disappointed!!! Upon getting our table we were left for a while to place our order. No one told us to use the buzzer only after 3rd attempts to call the waiter to put our drink order in at least. The waiting staff that day was very slow and it was not that busy!!! Each drink took forever to come. The daiquiri came in a flute!! I thought the food would make up for it bit very much less... Braissed spicy beef was bland and almost no taste, I had to use the soy sauce to be able to eat. Also it was just meat and sprouts and onion - no noodles Bento box also did not seem fresh either . Overlall bland food, bad service
Food was sooo good. Especially the fried chicken. One of my friends however did not enjoy her food that much at all not pictured here Service could have been better, but a nice atmosphere and the karaoke downstairs is very fun. Would come here again.
Great authentic Korean food, TERRIBLE STAFF AND SERVICE. The food here is great. However the bad service makes it impossible to enjoy. We arrived on time at half one for a reservation, were seated but given no menus. Had to ask after 30 minutes and was given one between three of us. Waiter never came back. After 50 minutes we ordered by calling a staff over. We had to find staff to order drinks. We weren't offered water. Food was really really good but the bibimbap sauce never appeared and staff were MIA. The tofu Jigae was amazing, the chicken was a little tough but delicious. The mandu were not home made. We had to ask for small plates to share the food, the other tables around us had those. We had hoped we would be out of there by 3 but it was close to half 4 when we finished our two course meal... At four o'clock we finished up our food the manager and staff took their break at the table next to us, put football on their phone to watch and chatted loudly about being on their break -- when our delay was their fault. It felt like we were eating in their staff room. We paid and didn't leave a tip. Not once in the time we were in Drunken Fish did any staff member pass our table for a courtesy, or ask if we were okay. To be honest if we hadn't gone looking we would still most likely be sitting there starving. They need new management/staff as feeling unwelcome, chasing staff around and not getting what you order/pay for leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
We were looking for a decent Korean food in Dublin and came across this restaurant. The taste was great and authentic, but the service is a bit disappointing - hence the 3 stars. We arrived around 17.30, the place was not too busy so we got seat right away. After received the menu, we had to wait for more than 30 minutes until one of our meal arrived. We ordered Haemul Kalguksu, Japchae, Sundubu Jjigae and Boneless honey garlic Korean fried chicken. The sundubu jjigae was amazing and the taste was so authentic! It served with steamed rice and some banchan side dishes. The Japchae and Haemul Kalguksu taste good. The Kalguksu is supposed to come with kimchi, but we never got the kimchi. I would not recommend the Korean fried chicken because it's just some goujons, lightly coated with honey garlic - unlike what I expected, crispy Korean fried chicken with generous glazing. We also ordered honey ginger tea but it never arrived. Looks like the waiter completely forgot about it.
