Well I havent had to visit for a long time but got an awful sickness virus and as I was doing jury duty I required a letter, I contacted them explaining the situation whilst being very ill and was told quite rudely they didn't have time to do this. I therefore didn't get medical advice but lost 3 days wages because they chose they couldn't be bothered, also my intregrity and honesty was in question.
I’ve now started playing the National Lottery every time I’m poorly. I figured there’s a higher probability of winning than getting through on the phone to make an appointment with the Doctor at 8.45am Time to improve your systems I think.
Doesnt answer the phone therefore doesnt provide a service. Move to a different surgery to defund them.
Terrible place every time I’ve been I get told they will ring me back with results weeks down the line no one has been in touch takes forever to get through to them
I recently moved to spennymoor and needed to change my doctors, I looked online and just picked at random as there are three medical practices in very close proximity to eachother. I was apprehensive when I booked my first appointment having read some of the reviews posted on here. But regardless I visited the nurse for my bi-weekly injection, upon visiting the surgery I was greeted by a friendly woman at the reception and was told to take a seat in their waiting room. Within minutes I was called into the door in front of the waiting room by Jan, one of the practicing nurses. She was absolutely lovely, nothing was too much she puts you totally at ease. Overall this medical practice is superb, getting in touch can be a bit tricky but honestly never takes me more than 10 minutes to get myself a appointment. All the staff I’ve met have been very friendly and their willingness to help is great.
Takes hours on end to actually get through to the automated menu and on the off chance you do get through the attitudes of the reception staff are disgusting, speaking to people including their own colleagues like they are something they scraped off the bottom of their shoe and claim for there to be no appointments to then 20 seconds later suddenly be able to offer an appointment on the same day when you challenge them. Its ridiculous.
All though it can be hard getting appointments here, they were on the ball when my one year old was really poorly. I'm very greatful to their receptionist Pauline the day I brought my son in, in a panic. My son wasn't breathing properly and was screaming and panicking in his pushchair, it was horrible to see, but Pauline kept me calm and got me seen as soon as possible. Once see all that worked that day did all they could to help me out at this stressful time and got me the help I needed for my son. It is great to know in times of great need the practice comes in great response to see to the needs of people. I am so greatful to Pauline and all the staff that day that supported me and helping me with my son. Very grateful to you all thank you so much.
standards are dropping alarmingly now that dr henderson semi retired nurses are great but reception staff apart from tom and lynn are a disgrace talk to you as if you were a naughty child . no respect at all!
It’s actually quite stressful trying to get through on the phone when you need to! 44 calls this morning to get through from 8:30am until 11:30am. 95 calls this week in total. It’s also pot luck as to how helpful it will be if you do manage to get through depending on who answers the phone!
We always use this Practice with 100% Confidence from Front of Desk to the GPs all staff are friendly and Accommodating,The Waiting room is conducive towards Clients needs plenty of seating and Quiet areas down the corridor if Needed. The Practice Nurses are Highly skilled and when a Dr hasn’t been available we have always felt reassured that the Nurses deal with issues to a exceptionally High competent level. We aren’t specific when ringing for an Appt and asking for a named GP as all the GPs that work in the Practice are vastly experienced friendly and knowledgeable..We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this Practice.
