Tried to convince my wife and I that her pain 'might' be caused by something that we knew categorically couldn't be the source. We told her the reason why, and she replied "but wouldn't it be nice if it was the reason?" She may have been trying to give us an 'option' to try and give us some hope, but we felt condenscended to. A frank "there's nothing we can do right now" would have been more appreciated rather than her pushing her own agenda which seemed to consist entirely of putting us on birth control. Apparently it's expected that young people will take drugs that mess with their bodies and be incapable of practising self-control. Perhaps she was just having a bad day, I'm sure she's not always like that, but I wouldn't see her again if I could help it.
