Story

33 Queen Street is a public bar and restaurant located in Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire. Our food speaks for it self, freshly prepared and cooked to order.

**Our specialities include:**

[Thai Chicken Satay: Sliced chicken breast, mixed peppers and onions in a creamy whisky sauce served with steamed rice.]

[Chicken fajitas: Served on a sizzling platter, with flour tortillas, sour cream, salsa and finely grated cheese.]

If I could give the place minus stars I would. We went in with a large party, they were understaffed knowing that 22 of us were coming in. Starters were coming out dribs and drabs, people were getting mains taken before rest of starters. They kept forgetting then a steak was missed and they waited nearly 2 hours before telling us there was no steak left. By this time most people had finished the mains. Would never be back. If your going with more than 3 people good luck
Visited on Thursday 11/07/2024 for their new Steak night. Great new addition to options for menu. As there was so much choice we didn't have a starter. My husband and I both opted for the Sirloin done to perfection, medium. Also you can choose from lots of sides and sauces. I had the baked potato a little burnt on the bottom and some watercress/grilled tomato. My husband ordered garlic mushrooms instead of sauce and we shared but couldn't finish a portion of onion rings between us. He also opted for the sautéed boiled potatoes called pomme cocotte which I hadn't heard of before and looked it up before we arrived. As we had pre ordered I got a free glass of wine included in the price and as usual my husband had a pint of lager. Was fairly quiet when we entered at 6pm but was soon filling up. Victoria served us wonderfully and the atmosphere started to change as it got busier. Was great value for money too. Big hand to the guys in the kitchen.
First time in doctor gormans, we had a lovely meal and drinks nacho starter then steak pie & thai satay skewers for main food was excellent and a great range of drinks etc, staff were on the ball and friendly , amazing value for money also. Would highly recommend to anyone / couples / familys etc . We will be back very soon.Food: 5/5
Popped in for a quick bite to eat and was not disappointed. The soup was delicious Food: 5/5
food was good,service extremely slow we sat for at least 20 mins before anyone came over,another gap before our order was taken,my sons order came which he finished before other 3 meals appeared.price wise a wee bit pricey,think mon-thurs 2 for 1 would be best time to visit
We came in with a big party for a family meal where food was pre ordered and it ended in disaster. Multiple missed drinks and food orders and missing items from meals. Waiting times of over an hour for some meals after everyone else has finished eating. Some meals did arrive after being asked but still lengthy wait times. After 2 and a half hours of waiting we were told they did not have any steak for the mixed grill. Ridiculous service and communication. The food that did eventually arrive was good. People arriving 45 minutes to an hour after us were receiving food before half of our party received anything.
This has gone blown hill since being taken over,six of us whent in for early dinner there was only an other couple in the place at the time,yet it took ten minutes for someone to come over and ask for drinks order. We had a look at the food menu and no one came back for a further ten minutes even though the place was empty ,we left and whent elsewhere we will not be back service dreadful.

Visited Dr Gormans today for lunch with a group of friends and colleagues for a leaving get together. There were 13 of us. The staff were very attentive and accommodating to everyone's needs. The food was fantastic! The portion sizes are as big as a main course I was stuffed! I would recommend this lovely pub to anyone, it's also great value for money. Thanks David for your hospitality.
We had a family of 12 for our neice's 16th birthday lunch, service was brilliant and food was excellent, good value for money. Special thanks to vicky for arranging tables and waitress for being patient .Food: 5/5
