Used to be a great practice, but as Hillsborough has grown, the practice hasn't kept pace with demand, and it's now impossible to get through to reception, never mind get an appointment. And yet, when I've went in to get flu jabs for the kids, the waiting area is often empty
Absolutely impossible to get an appointment, while my health is just getting worse and worse, and I can't even consult a professional to find out what's wrong with me. This GP is not fit for service in the slightest. Get a bloody machine to put people on hold at least, or an email address.
Woeful service from the reception team at this practice. Impossible to get through on the phone upgrade your IVR system, staff on the whole not helpful. Waiting in reception to be seen - staff in the back office were distracted, picking their nails and completely disinterested. It’s no surprise there isn’t anyone answering the phone. Multiple complains not responded to. It’s a shame as the clinical care from the doctors and nurses staffing the diagnostic services are wonderful - if you manage to get through to see them. The whole administration of the practice needs an overhaul. It’s so far below par it’s unfair to even give them one star.
Abysmal service. I called 82 times this morning waiting to get through - and when I did speak to the receptionist, I was told that I would have to call back again tomorrow as there were no GP phone appointments left today. So tomorrow i'll try my luck again at obtaining one of those magical appointments. Ridiculous. Put better systems in place to look after your patients.
Appreciate so much the doctors at Hillsborough. They have been a great blessing & encouragement to me & my late husband over so many years. The new receptionists are lovely, so helpful & patient.

Quite possibly the most useless medical practice in northern ireland. The fact that you have to phone about 100 times to get through just to be told, "all the ring backs have been taken". Have been trying to get a ring back for over a week with the same answer. Do yourself a favour and switch practices if possible.
This medical facility, like most UK NHS general medical practices, is under heavy pressure of demand. This can make timely access to a GP quite challenging for some patients. But we also have to remember that this practice serves a geographically large area with an increasingly elderly population catchment and hence there is a complex and labour-intensive case-mix. As well, the practice is of course financially limited and by no fault of its own by virtue of the simple fact it is entirely publically funded. Nevertheless, Hillsborough Medical Practice has some very experienced family doctors, such as GP partners Drs Hall and Winter. They are also innovative in trying to adapt their practice services to meet increasing demands, yet they are never compromising in the high standard of empathic medical care which they provide to their patients. Overall, Hillsborough Medical Practice is an exceptional health provider.
Doctors quick to call back when you ring in the morning for an appointment; I have always been offered same day appointment; have seen several of the doctors and they are all pleasant, knowledgeable and kind to my young daughter. Reception staff are good too.
Received outstanding service from the Lee in the office team. She went above and beyond to try to help me with my query regarding medical history. Especially at a time where they are under extreme pressure from Covid. Thank you for all your help and support.
