One of the coolest restaurants I’ve ever been to. Never seen anything like it before. Food was amazing with great prices. £44 for two of us at dinner time and we left with full bellies. Will definitely be back.Food: 5/5
Today is very cold day, the waitress refused to close the curtains near the main entrance. So I sat there with cold breezes for thirty minutes. The air conditioning was working surprisingly powerful above where I sit. Lovely experience. Ordering ice cold drink was my mistake, super sweet, and nothing else. Sashimi selection was not good. They didn’t taste very fresh. Eel sushi rolls were nice. The rest of the dishes were just okay.
This is my favourite sushi place! I’ve been coming here for sushi for years with friends, family and my partner. My partner and I visited last weekend for dinner. We didn’t book a table and it was very busy, but were lucky, as we didn’t have to wait for a table. The food is amazing as always. And the staff are very friendly there. There is also always someone walking around with a jug of water to top up your glass of water . They do have lovely cocktails there. This dragon cocktail that I had was delicious, but since I’m Asian, I’m quite a light weight . We didn’t finish our food, so we asked for a takeaway box. The waitress who served us, put all the food in the box and a bag for us. Some may say the food is pricey there, but for the quality it is totally worth it! I highly recommend Dozo sushi if you are in London and fancy sushi for lunch or dinner
I recently dined at Dozo restaurant and had an incredible experience. The interior is classic chic, and the staff were really lovely and friendly. We enjoyed a delicious meal, starting with the lunchtime special tofu bento box, which had fantastic flavours. The black truffle gyoza was tasty, with a pronounced truffle flavour. I had the sashimi nori set with 18 pieces of fresh and varied sashimi, and the grilled aubergine with sweet miso dressing and sesame seeds was absolutely divine, with phenomenal flavours. The mixed vegetarian futomaki roll was tasty, and the black cod, a Dozo special, was perfectly cooked with an amazing flavour and dressing. Everything we tried was delicious, making it a truly memorable dining experience. Vegetarian options: Truffle gyozas, miso aubergine, futomaki roll, tofu bento Box.
I've eaten here twice and I really enjoyed it each time. The fish are very fresh and neatly arranged. Everyone should definitely try the Vocalno roll I don't really remember the exact name but the sauce that comes with it is amazing. Eel rice with richly marinated eel so I ordered it both times I came here. The staff was very enthusiastic when I asked to change my seating position to another table. People should book a table in advance to avoid having to wait in line
Great value of lunch deals with central London location. Great Japanese izakaya vibes. The staffs were friendly and attentive. Authentic flavours.Food: 5/5
Such a cute place that I only just discovered. Decor and seating is lovely and all the food tasted so good. Service was great and our server Sammy was a kind, smiley and overall friendly lad who gave very good recommendations. Perfect place for a relaxed lunch date.Food: 5/5
We're huge fans of Japanese Cuisine, and are always on the look out for new to us places to try. We recently travelled to London for a West End Theatre trip, and were excited to visit this Gem of a restaurant, conveniently located nearby in Soho. We Ate... Black Truffle Gyoza Shiitake Skewers Nasu Dengaku Agedashi Tofu Lamb Chops Yaki Hotate Maguro Tataki We Drank... Ginza Yuzu Cocktail Fresh Lemonade with Mint We were absolutely blown away by this dining experience! The restaurant provides the experience of traditional recessed horigotatsu seating along with friendly and attentive customer service. The large menu has pictures of all the dishes, to help you in your selection if you are not so familiar with menu items. We tried a large range of veggie and non veggie items from the menu and we're blown away by every single dish. Literally every mouthful was so flavourful, with delicious textures and all the umami! We will definitely be returning to this one
Been coming to Dozo for the past few years, and it gives me mixed feelings. This spot is one of my favourite Japanese restaurants however, their service is questionable. Feels unwelcoming. I have tried many of their options, from lunch menus to ramen, sushi to sashimi, and alcohol. All of the food are excellent quality as always. Though every visit, the waiters can be quite rude or agreesive. Especially this one particular older woman, she always seems like she is in a bad mood and forced to work there. Never smiled once; I feel like she was never happy to serve anybody, even any other table. As I try to be on the best of my behaviour every visit, even bowing and showing my respect; I could hear them speak Cantonese and feel the hostility. Few of the occasions being: 1 / Booked a table for 3 and was forced to wait 20 minutes after our booking time. This is so that one of the tables could finish. Why bother booking in the first place? Served by the same older lady. 2 / Once having ordered my dish, the wait time was very long. They were busy but it's understandable. However, once everybody else received their food, I didn't get my order - served by the same older lady, who took my order. I waited 10 minutes after and asked her, she responded in a rude tone, saying I had to wait. Anyways, I asked a different waitress 20 minutes later, she was nice but she said she check that for me. Total waiting 40 minutes AFTER all of my friends had finished their food. Not including wait time in total. Overall, the service is appalling, they are not doing purposefully but at least have some respect amongst everybody. I did not dare to ask that older lady for the bill. Very rude. Though that does not stop me from coming to Dozo, I can sacrifice experiencing the service for excellent food. 3-4 stars overall. Easy 5 if they did something about the service, seeing other reviews have the same issue.
Every is reasonable here Reasonable food and nothing wow nothing bad Reasonable service that does the job Reasonable price given it’s central London It’s a Japanese restaurant runs by Hong Kongers with Hongkee chefs who constantly having verbal diarrhoea when doing their job. Sadly their conversation is nothing exciting. The atmosphere would have been nicer without verbal diarrhoea.
