I've left a good review for this garage before because they apparently went the extra mile to help me out. After a list MoT fail points in 2022 I bit the bullet and paid them to resolve all fail and advisory items. When I picked the car up I was told that a steering advisory could not be done as they ran out of time. To compensate they offered to do the work just for the cost of parts if I booked the car in at a later date. That was the point I gave a five star review. As they seemed to be doing me a favour I added a service so at least they were getting payment for some of the time spent on the car. Roll on 12 months car fails MoT on the same issues as advisory in 2022 that were apparently repaired by this garage. Appears they never did the repair. Called them to be advised records show just a service and they cannot remember having offered to do the work and the circumstances etc despite the guy showing me his VW golf in the back of the garage and generally seeming interested, helpful and friendly. Seems I paid over £150 just for an oil change. When I collected the car the guy actually said he'd driven it around the block to check the steering was ok! Also had the undertray fall off a few weeks after the "service" was done. Could have been coincidence but I would not trust this garage with any car from now on.
Was struggling for years to find a good garage, got recommended these guys about two years ago, and ever since then have used downs for me at partners car. Always great service, nothing is ever to much trouble and will always get things done asap! Thank you Chloe

I first went to Downs Motors on the recommendation of friends and family and I have not been disappointed! Booking was really easy over the phone and the team are really friendly and helpful. My car was ready earlier than expected which was great!! No waiting around, bills are easy to understand and they explain the work to you. Avoid avoid avoid! Made me wait 61/2 hours for coils to be fixed, had to wait for part, when it had been booked in over 5 days, delboy salesman with no customer service experience, extreamly rude, sells old cars, and does not honour warrenty.
I went to Downs Motors to enquire about some serious body work repair I needed doing amongst other bits, after my car had been vandalised. Although Downs Motors could not yet offer what I needed to get my car fixed, Dale whom I spoke with, was incredibly helpful and went out of his way in order to provide me with details for someone who was able to help, and at a really good price too. Genuinely a super helpful and nice guy! My partner and I will definitely be going back for any future car troubles!
