Another beautiful steak , cooked by proprietor, Julian. My Mum and Dad enjoyed their meal, too. Although very busy, the staff were as efficient and friendly as ever. Strongly recommended.
Poor service, had to eat our food with our coats on as there was no heating or fire on other customers also put their coats back on. Had st send food back as it was not cooked . No apology. Definitely will not be back here.Food: 2/5
Slightly disappointing. Ordered a starter, main and dessert with 3 pints and the bill came over £50 for 1 person!!. Starter and main were loaded with salad. Drinks took a long time to arrive and we were charged twice for 1 of the desserts which we found out later although we should have checked with each other who paid for what, the restaurant should have told us we paid twice. Also the steak pie was very fatty and we didn’t eat it. Not impressed.
Good food served all day on Sunday, steak pie is highly recommended. Kids meals are great value. Nice staff and cleanFood: 5/5
Went for lunch this afternoon to the dovenbyship. Food was very nice, as always. Although, sitting near the kitchen door was a mistake. You could hear every conversation staff were having. Not appropriate language and loud voices form all the men serving and cooking. One of the kitchen staff came out and started to change into motorbike gear by the bar, walking around with no shoes on across the restaurant floor. Didn't feel like we were sitting in the same restaurant as on previous occasions in the evening, but possibly less established staff on service today. Kind regards. 16/03/2023
Amazing plentiful meal. Just the right sort of meal that saves me from Losing interest in dining out. Great tasting healthy, fresh packed with meat and veg. Food & drinks: Highly recommended Dietary restrictions: Loads of signs about allergy or intolerances. I eat anything but was good to see they cater for all.
Large portions of amazing traditional pub grub served with homemade chips. Couldn't fault the meals or service. Would highly recommend to anybody. Kid-friendliness: Good kiddies menu that includes pudding and a drink.
I got there around 7 in the evening and was shown to my room, when the young man opened the door, the bed was unmade so he quickly shut the door again and said that he needed to sort the room out, I was asked to wait and it would be about 10 minutes. I went to my car to wait but nobody came to inform me that it was ready so I went back to the room after 20 mins. The sheets were not changed, he had just fixed the bed. The place was quite isolated and I was a female by myself so I was not confident enough to complain further. When I got ready for bed a constant beeping started. I phoned the hotel number and spoke to a member of staff, who said that he would sort it out, after about an hour it was still going so I called again but the phone went to voicemail! I messaged twice after that with no answer. I got absolutely no sleep all night and the guy in the room next to mine said he hadn't got any sleep for 2 nights as it had been faulty the night before as well. The next afternoon I called the hotel from work and spoke to the manager who assured me it was fixed and that he would refund me 1 nights money. I asked when and he told me on Saturday. When I didn't get the refund on Saturday, I called on Monday to chase it up and the manager said that he would do it that afternoon...I still hadn't received it the next day so I messaged him on Facebook messenger, to which his response was to block me and now everytime I call and they realise it's me, they hang up on me. Absolutely disgusting customer service, if you are not going to refund me at least have the decency to tell me instead of messing me around even more. I will never stay there again and I will never recommend it to anyone. The guy seemed really nice, just goes to show you can't trust anyone. It was overall an extremely upsetting experience.
Visited today for a lunchtime treat with my friend. Both opted for the steak pie & chips 2 for£20 menu The pie was of a decent standard but the chips appeared to be warmed up! It was quite busy and the poor lad behind the bar was doing both drinks and food order while his colleague was outside on her phone! On her return to the kitchen one almighty row was heard between her & the chef! Not what we paid good money for to witness,... Lovely place,... Shame about some staff!
Absolutely love this place. Food is amazing, portions are plentiful, lovely chilled environment and the staff ate all wonderful. Highly recommended Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access for wheelchairs
