Story

We’re a group of experienced NHS GPs with long experience of helping local people in the Bournemouth and Poole area.

We’ve set up a private GP service because it gives us the opportunity to offer patients the kind of GP service we believe in.

The Dorset Private GP service is based at the Westcliff Health clinic in the Poole Road Medical Centre building, Bournemouth. We also have on site a pharmacy, private children’s therapy team, adult physiotherapy, chiropractic and osteopathy services, which we can refer patients to.

Booked in for a cortisone injection as my local GP wouldn’t administer one. Great service and excellent communication, Dr Alder explained every potential complication but rest assured I’m finally pain free after 4 years of extreme pain. Highly recommended practice.

I went to Dorset Private GP for a general consultation and then followed up going to arrange a medical check up and blood tests. The admin staff were great and went out of their way to help make the arrangements needed, including adjustments to paperwork with zero delays.  Dr Alder was great, gave me the time I needed to explain the situation and my symptoms. Was very supportive towards my needs also.  Many thanks to all and will definitely return.

Huge thanks goes to Dr Jon Echebarrieta and nurse Amanda for their help with three moles from my face, one from my arm and one from my back. All were unsightly and something that I have wanted to get rid of my whole life. It was an investment in my appearance that I was keen to make. They showed unwavering sympathy and reassurance to me, explaining what was going to take place and did their utmost to make the procedures as comfortable as possible. I got upset at the start of the appointment, as I’d been worrying about the procedure, and they were incredibly kind. From the minute I arrived, I was given a friendly welcome, and a little chat as I paid and a goodbye from Leonie on the reception desk. I’d previously spoken to her on email as I asked if I could be made aware if any earlier appointments became available and she did just that. I wanted as much time as possible for the scars to heal before I get married next year. All in all, I couldn’t speak more highly of the team. Thank you all for being so kind and friendly.

Always excellent  service from reception first class... and Thank you to Dr Alder 5* + everytime l have visited or  enquired or needed medication.. Thank you all. A fantastic practice.

Very easy to book.Quick and efficient testing . Drive through and no need to get out of u to our car.We paid £119 each for PCR rapid test and got results 24 hours  later as we were travelling to Canada. Day 2 test gist £100 as al so o received results just over a day later. Thought it was expensive but had little choice as went to Canada to see grandsons after 2 years.

Huge thanks to Dorset Private GP. I had to move my appointment a couple of times due to family commitments and they were accommodating and professional at all times, I received a warm greeting at reception and the clinic timekeeping was impeccable. I recommend them wholeheartedly.

Excellent service,   easy to book,  no queues,  no worries about being amongst crowds, all done in your own car. Results take a day or 2 longer than other providers, results are in before lunch on 3rd day exactly what they say.

I can’t thank Caroline@ Dorset Private GP enough. On  Sunday night at the start of UK covid LockDown 2.0 I messaged their out of hours email through their website To request a short notice PCR covid Test for a fast ball business flight to Dubai scheduled for Tuesday.PCR is normally a 72h turnaround Not holding out much hope as I had been calling and leaving messages to other clinics all day I was thankfully surprised to receive a response within 20 minutes from Caroline at Dorset Private GP Reception and subsequent phone call to confirm an appointment for the following morning. Absolutely Amazing ethos towards helping people and super professional. So refreshing to know there are still ‘Can Do’ people around making the world a better place. Caroline was at home in her free time but still took the time and effort to contact and arrange my test and laboratory courier turnaround. I’m So massively grateful.. Thank you .! J Heath

Briony was a Star , Used them for my pre travel PCR Test. Had to move my appointment a fare few times as flights got canceled and the country i was flying too kept moving the goal posts . None of this was an issue for her though. Very polite and professional when you arrive to have the test done.  Can't recommend them enough . Will definitely be using them in the future as i have to travel for work quite often .

So glad I visited. Dr Katherine Broad was not only lovely but she listened to me, did not rush me and was very thorough. We covered so much in a short time. She was reassuring and helpful. I'm so glad I made the decision to pay. Was worth every penny.
