This station is ok, it serves its purpose, contains bike locks and a new shelter! However, other then that, serves not much purpose, Dorking deepdene being not too far away I don't see much purpose in it unless you work very close to Dorking west! Nevertheless, a decent station with ok frequency but in most cases better to use Dorking deepdene especially because of its Dorking main connections!
Important departure point if you live in the Guildford end of Dorking Town.nnNot well signposted and hidden away behind some light Industrial units. If approaching on Station Road accessed by a narrow passageway.nnCovered seating on both Platforms. Platform lights were updated recently, so at least well lit. Some covered bicycle racks available.nnInfrequent services often late, not manned and no Ticket Machine, but generally in good repair.
This is quite a nice station which has comfortable seating and a bike rack with a cover. It only has half of the services that the nearby Dorking Deepdene station and is also tucked away behind a car wash in an industrial estate.
Coming to the station is the quickest and easiest way too charge your phone, all you have to do is hold the USB end of the cable on the tracks and it charges instantly... BrilliantnP.S be careful not to touch the tracks when doing this as it makes you look like you've climbed into a bath with a toaster.
As a transport service it's of little use -no car parking, and a limited catchment area. However, this used to be the town's main station and I remember the impressive buildings being demolished in the Seventies. The subway survives, surprisingly.
