Used these guys for a Dolan L'etape. Bike was ready a week early. I chose the wrong seat when placing the order (too small and some serious sit bone pain) and phoned them after realising a month later. The guy measurered me at a visit and recommended a seat. He let me get the seat at a discounted price and didn't charge me for a seat post cuff that I snapped. Fantastic service and would highly recommend.

i have just used Dolan bikes for the first time having always used ribble before. Their customer service is OK but their workshop is poor. I waited over 3 weeks for the hangers for my Ares frame to arrive which i could accept. I paid good money to have my bike built using the group set from my other bike. I went to pick the bike up and it clearly wasn't ready ready and it took another 90 mins of waiting for it to be finished. Then the wrong handle bars and stem had been put on so another 90 mins was wasted. What should have been a wait of 10-15 mins turned into a 3 hour wait. I have set the ride height etc but it is clear that the gears have not been indexed properly with excessive chain rub on the front mech and not being able to use the smallest cog on the rear.I have to say that i am pretty disappointed with this turn of events and wont be going back to them.

Avoid, avoid, avoid!  Absolute scammers!

If this review stops just 1 person from ordering from Dolan Bikes, then i feel that it was worth the effort of writing it.

I went into their bike showroom and spoke to a sales assistant about what kind of bike i needed and what i would be using it fort.  The assistant recommended a particular bike, stating that it would fit all of my needs. Foolishly, i ordered the bike based on their advice and recommended frame size and crank length etc. Apart from asking me how tall i was, no other measurements were taken, which made me a bit nervous. The sales assistant informed me that the bike would take 10-12 working days to build.

After ordering the bike, i started to lose confidence in the frame size that was recommended.  I also read on the Dolan Bikes website that it would cost me £50 to change the frame size once the bike had been built.  I decided to do some research about suggested frame sizes, based on my measurements.  It turned out that the frame and stem were far too small as therefore the bike would have been far too small and therefore would have cost me £50 to get a different frame size.  During my research, i also happened to learn that the bike that they advised me to order, would have actually been completely useless for what i needed it for, as disc brakes cannot be used in cycling events that i wanted to take part in.

I quickly sent an email immediately after learning this, requesting that the order be cancelled; bearing in mind that this was only a few days after placing my order and therefore well within the stated 10-12 working day estimated build time.  Dolan Bikes replied, stating that i could not cancel the order and refused to give me my money back.  I explained that i was wrongly advised and the bike they recommended to me would be too small and was useless for my purpose.  I also pointed out that their website was also very misleading.  After repeatedly refusing to cancel the order, they tried to offer me an alternative bike but this was £400 more expensive than the original bike and was also not suitable for what i needed the bike for.

After numerous emails, i had to involve my credit card company.  I eventually managed to get a refund from them but they refused to refund all of my money back.  They refunded 90% of my money, which meant that they kept hold of over £100!  After the fear and worry of Dolan Bikes keeping all of my money, i was so relieved to get back just 90%.  I am just so glad i paid on my credit card and the credit card company was able to help.

I will never use Dolan Bikes ever again.  Dolan Bikes do not care if their products are suitable for their customers, they just care about getting your money in the till and keeping it there.

I have spoken to a few other cyclists about my experience and this kind of terrible customer treatment is not unusual from Dolan Bikes.  There are so many other good bike retailers out there that value their customers and deserve our custom.

I've had many bike from Terry and the team over the years. Always A1 customer service and never had any problems with any of my bikes. Highly recommend 👍👍👍

Placed an online order for a Titanium bike on the 20th June . Arrived 17th July . No correspondence from Dolan . Had to chase up on 2 separate occasions and was told they were waiting on parts . Wouldn't take much to call or email with updates . Bike arrived with no paperwork or instructions for Di2 which was fitted and marks on frame . Nice bike , poor customer care.
