Story

The epicurious Doctor Ink has landed on our shores from distant lands.

Born the illicit love child of a drunken encounter of her Imperial Majesty, Queen Victoria Regina and a young Cecil Rhodes, the story of Daedalus Ramssees Ink is riddled with controversy from the very moment he drew his first breath.

His latest den of inequity, hiding in plain sight, can be found at Her Majesty’s customs house on the quay of Exeter’s historic waterfront, the oldest customs house in Britain. A night out with Daedalus will offer curious drinks from all corners of the empire.

The Doctor has travelled the length and breadth of the empire and beyond. His roguish nature has led him astray on more than one occasion and caused many a cuckolded husband or ten. He has been chased out of more ports than he can recollect however he always manages to grab a memento before he escapes.

1st visit to this bar and pleased we found it tucked away in the corner next to the Customs House. Had seen an Instagram post referring to some 'Disco Sliders' cocktails with an offer early evening. Great offer as it turns out, we had 2 of the 3 options see pics, wish we'd ordered all 3 at the same time! Charming staff and quirky interior made this a great experience. Extra star available if we'd been allowed to upgrade to a 3rd slider on their offer!
If there are better cocktails in Exeter, I haven’t had them. Knowledgeable and friendly staff and a lovely, intimate setting and atmosphere. There take on the old fashioned with popcorn infused whisky was my personal fave.
Quirky and friendly cocktail bar tucked away beside The Custom House. Beautifully decorated with a Victorian explorer theme. Very knowledgeable staff producing a fantastic & fun range of handcrafted cocktails, using freshly prepared ingredients handmade by the staff. A fun evening.
What a find! The exquisite cocktailien would find a friendly, highly skilled chemist here to suggest an interesting and robust formula for slightly fogging the brain. Comfy, laid back charm with such a warm atmospheric vibe seems well hidden among the city. I got two-deep on my first visit but will be back!
A-mazing!! Greeted by the loveliest staff, such a beautiful colourful setting and super creative and tasty cocktails. We will be back! Definitely has my vote for one of the best cocktail bars in Exeter!!
Amazing time in here. Young lad so enthusiastic and knew his drinks. Decor is unusual and pleasing on the eyes. Drinks tasted unreal. Would come back here next time i am down.
Atmospheric hidden bar with great drinks. The bar man was very knowledgeable and passionate about the cocktail menu recommending drinks to suit our taste. The green dragon with green chilli pepper was delicious. The qwirky decor was very atmospheric. Definitely make a visit to this place.
Fantastic cocktails - great selection, unique and interesting flavours and perfect execution! I went for the feast, which unusually is a savoury cocktail but it really works! Actual bar itself is nice too - cosy and full of curiosities!
A super little cocktail bar that is nicely tucked away. The 'Mythbusting' theme of the cocktails was fun and they were all served in an interesting way. Super friendly staff and attentive service.
