My wife and I recently spent a week of our honeymoon at Dobbin Lodge and were delighted by the entire experience. The house was exactly what we were looking for: a place to stay that felt like home where we could come and go on our own schedule without feeling as though we were disrupting others. We rented a car during this trip and it was so great to be able to wake up on our own schedule, tour the country during the day, come home when we pleased, and then walk to a nearby restaurant, get some takeaway, or prepare our own dinner. When we considered the ability to cook some meals for ourselves and do some laundry, there was a cost savings as well. The owners were extremely generous and made us feel welcome and comfortable from the very first contact. Every email that I sent was answered promptly and the phone calls were courteous and welcoming. As for the house itself, it was very clean and well-furnished; linens, plates and flatware, kitchen utensils, etc. The wireless internet connection was quick and reliable, the television worked great, the bathroom facilities were clean and modern- I just can't convey enough how happy we were to be in a place that felt like home, especially when we were in a different country for the first time. Though there were only two of us, four could share this space (there are two bedrooms, four twin beds) comfortably. Some of my favorite memories from the trip are simply rising early and drinking a cup of coffee on the patio with a book and listening to the sounds of waking Armagh. I'd definitely recommend Dobbin Lodge to anyone that prefers to stay in self-catering lodging; that is: anyone that prefers to set their own schedule and itinerary while traveling. We had a great experience.
