Always enjoy a trip to Dobbies, wether its for garden items, presents for friends and family or just for tea and cake at the cafe, it has everything under one roof.nnI have noticed the plants here are of much better quality than other garden centres and well cared for properly. The staff are always friendly and helpful whenever I'm in, especially when needing advice for garden plants or tools. Highly recommended visiting here even if its not garden related. Great selection of books and gifts available.
This store has its positive & negatives, positive was food was nice from the restaurant, surprisely when I got to eat it, negative, the young man who was serving coffee on his own, had to leave customers standing waiting on their coffee, he went to help a guy on a till, there was three other members of staff. Two chatting at a fridge, at the entrance of the restaurant, one pretending she was busy, clearly could've over took the fella at the coffee, instead of putting a small piece of paper into a bin, there was clearly no team work
In for quick coffee n scone today. Pretty disappointed as place lacked atmosphere and the toilets needed a good thorough cleaning. The food and coffee was fine but I won't be back as an abundance of nicer places to eat.
In for breakfast before travelling home. Restaurant not too busy, plenty of tables available. Staff helpful and friendly with customers, while being complimented on the quality of the coffee served. Food was tasty but would have been better if served hotter.
Went here for some lunch and a walk round the centre. In the cafe bit, there was only one fridge that had any juice in it, the other was more or less empt. The side salad we got with our food looked like it had been there a couple of days. Walked up to the till to pay and we were left standing for a while before someone eventuallly shouted us over to a completely different area to pay which was hidden amongst cakes and crisps. Nothing to say to pay at that area. The staff member who served us our food was pleasant enough when she asked what we wanted, but there was absolutely no small talk once we ordered. Once we had eaten our food we went for a look at the plants outside, a lot of them looked half dead and a lot of the table/benches the plants were on had either collapsed or looked to be on the verge of collapsing. We were worried to pick anything up in case they did. I feel Dobbies needs to invest some money in this store to make it look presentable again. My parents and I often come here when we're in the area, but we're not going to rush back. A real shame.
