This fish market is incredible. The range of fresh fish and shellfish is beyond belief, all at very reasonable prices. I was astounded at their selection, including some fish I had never even heard of. You couldn't get any fresher than crabs blowing bubbles and clams opening to the touch. Go check this awesome place out in the Arndale Centre Market you won't be disappointed!!
Bought king prawns, oysters and « live mussels » this morning 11:05am. Had them in the fridge 10min later. Just got mussels out, put into a bowl of cold water to check the freshness. One third immediately floated up to the surface. That’s 1/3 of my mussels clearly « dead » and I’ll go nicely give them back in the morning:
There are many types of fish, the prices are good, and the service is also fast from the staff .
First time I've been and I wasn't disappointed,the fish crab and prawns were absolutely lovely and fresh as was the giant oysters I will definitely be back for more
Excellent quality and value. Seafood is really fresh and the King Prawns are to die for. Big and juicy and much tastier than the frozen variety found in supermarkets. Recently ordered a bbq pack and everyone loved the sausages, kebabs and burgers. Speedy delivery and excellent customer service from Cathy. Highly recommended. Will definitely order again.
Zero hygiene, you can see many situations where employees do not wash their hands after taking the money to catch the fish. if you are going to buy fish there be very careful. Health surveillance should supervise this establishment more closely because it is putting the lives of many people at risk.
If there were zero stars they will get it. I got some blue crabs and a boilt one. When I got home the ammonia odour was so bad that I didn't want to get food poisoning so I bin all of them. Never again. It's a shame u can not get a decent fishmonger in central Manchester. Bests one I have found is Out of the Blue in Chorlton.
got some garlic prawns and some black garlic prawns garlic prawns were quite salty, even when masked by the other components of the ramen i added them to. black prawns were miles better, full of flavour and incredibly moreish.
Really nice display of fish. Chose some Salmon, cook in oven while I made a cheese sauce and salad. Quick and easy meal. Fish really fresh, really tasty. Will go back.
People who reviewed need to realise they are two different fish shops! Whales fish and direct fisheries...Staff were so approachable and helpful, best fish ive ever tasted hands down
