DO NOT BOOK WITH DIRECT FERRIES. BOOK DIRECTLY WITH THE FERRY COMPANY! We amended our Direct Ferries booking from Sunday to Saturday. Received a confirmation from Direct Ferries a month before travelling. However, at the port it turned out that the booking was never changed thus leaving us stranded. Luckily Stena Line was very helpful and we still made it on board with a small extra charge. There's no way to contact direct ferries with these kinds of emergencies. Online it states that their customers support only opens at 9 whilst the check-ins for the ferry is before 8. At check-in we heard that this happened a lot over the summer; people receiving booking confirmations which aren't 'real' from Direct Ferries. Be warned. Don't book through them if you want stress-free travel.
So far so good!! The site was clear to use and it gave a comprehensive range of options at very competitive prices so if all goes to plan I shall be delighted - keeping fingers crossed that nothing goes wrong my children do call me the Hannibal lecter of the i-t world! in which case I shall be a very happy customer.

Very helpful, only one thing that wasn't to good when Tring to email they said address not monitored so did not respond direct, but all worked out in end all the staff we had contact with was polite and helpful
Once you are at the ferry / channel crossing, everything works out. However, customer service is horrible if you ever run into any trouble. I spent one day every week trying to add someone to our booking. The website didn't work, e-mails with screenshots of the problem were ignored or answered with 'you can do this on our website', after a week I received one phone call and was promised it would be taken care of that day, but never heard back. In the end we had to spend 250 extra euro on alternative transport.
Direct Ferries are a professional highly trained service which dealt with my booking quickly and thoroughly. They answered a question I had via their website and are very helpful. I would use them again.
appauling. cant get through. ferry was booked twice as I scrolled back to amend. I now have 2 booking for 1 car and 2 adults on the same day/time crossing .. I only need one - been charged twice. Been told so far that I cant cancel it... IT WAS A MISTAKE. I just want to speak to a human
This summer I could not travel on the selected date due to some family issues, so I contacted customer service and they offered to leave my ticket open until the end of the year. The ship is nice, clean, with lots of good restaurants and a huge free shop where you can find lots of affordable presents for your relatives and friends.
Absolute disaster. Price quoted £156.00. Price charged £161.99. DFDS price £156 No extras requested. Your contact form does not recognise the booking reference: 152486337. So it is impossible to contact you. No email, no telephone. I will not book again. I need a refund of £5.99 per return.
Very easy to compare prices and straightforward book through Direct Ferries. The only slight criticism is they don’t show upfront, the charge of about £7 on top of the ferry company fare but it’s still good value for having the ease of comparison. We would definitely use them again.
