Food that taste like explosion in your mouth, so tasty! Loved every dishes that we have ordered. Will definitely be coming back for more.
Dhaba@49 never disappoints. This time we went for the brunch menu and came out happy. We ordered a fair bit from the menu and were very satisfied with everything. The way food was served was exactly Dhaba style, which added to the experience. In terms of food, we ordered Chole bhature they could make it more tangy and spicy, aloo puri, anda bhurji with paratha, masala tea and mango lassi. Everything was great. They have also added Tandoori momos to the menu and they were amazing too. Will visit again soon.
A small Indian restaurant which was very busy. They have seating downstairs and upstairs. We had to wait 10mins for a table to be free. As soon as one was available, it was cleaned and then we were seated. Order was taken within 10mins. Food came within 20mins. The street food they do is so tasty. It is well presented. The chaats were top hit with this restaurant. The starters were rubbish and would avoid if I decide to visit next time. They do thigh piece chicken throughout which is a very big disappointment. Restaurant please take note... Breast piece is more popular and goes better with the dishes. Hate the taste of thigh piece chickens. The main course was good. The naan bread was proper fresh. The Daal and the egg curry was good but just needed bit of flavour. The butter chicken was my favourite. The taste was so good. Only issue was that it came with thigh piece chicken which killed the joy. We could not order dessert as the kitchen closed and the waiters failed to let us know. You guys could have made extra £30 from me only if you had told me that kitchen is closing and if we wanted to order any dessert. Customer service was OK but could be better. They seemed liked not caring as much. Either they are so busy and not able to cope and therefore need more staff or they just don't care at all. They did not provide proper service. I had to ask for basics such as wet towels. Some of the food I did not touch as I hated the taste. That was the starters but the waiters failed to ask if anything was wrong or take it off the bill. The toilet downstairs smelt so bad that even flies were dying in there and the kitchen was right next to the toilet. This place needs proper cleaning.
Went here for Valentine's Day with my fiance. Had the best night. Food was delicious. Staff were so friendly and sweet especially Jyot. The drinks were super unique. I also left the restaurant with a gift that they gave me for Valentine's Day. The traditional Indian box with chocolates inside was honestly the icing on the cake. An amazing traditional indian restaurant. Can't wait to go again!
We visited last week and we were extremely happy with the service we got. Food and cocktails were amazing. We got served by Kevin, my God what a superstar, very funny guy, fast and efficient. We will definitely visit again, highly recommended
London has a reputation for its Indian food prowess - for this seasoned foodie, Dhaba@49 is in a league of its own. From the moment you walk through the doors, you’re in for a welcomed taste stimulation experience. First off, everything on the menu delivers. I’ve had the pleasure of sampling most of the menu and have yet to be disappointed. Beginning with the starters, I recommend the Chilli Paneer, Pav Bhaji or the Chilli Garlic Prawns. Each dish is incredible on its own and is packed with a variety of flavor and spices. For the mains, both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian options offer a diverse range of delicious tastes, my favorites include the Egg Curry and the Chicken Tikka Masala. Pair your feast with a serving of Sapphire Rice and Garlic Naan and you’ll be guaranteed to leave deeply satisfied - quite possibly in need of a wheelbarrow to roll you home. It’s absolutely worth it. Best Indian in London.
Their signature curry was the best curry I have had, hands down. I got the mushroom rice to go with it. Their meat samosas were good too.
The second time, it's just a random visit, and it never fails to deliver! We wanted something light. We got carried away with mainly starters, which are super flavourful and great portion. It's one of my favourite restaurants added to my list. The end with the chai is a must-have! It's not powder tea it's actually masala chai brewed and is well made to taste. In a beautiful desi tea pot. Overall, the food was excellent, and if you don't go and try it out, you won't know. I do feel they take pride in the food, as you can tell with the flavour and presentation. I will try their fish option, as I do get full from the starters. However, the vegetarian option is excellent. The chef is always on point. Can't wait to go back again. Vegetarian options: There is plenty of vegetarian options. Parking: Off street parking is free from 6 pm, I think. Feel free to call them
My husband and I took the 1 hour 5 min transport ride from Lewisham/Greenwich to eat here. It was well-worth it! We had lovely food in a well-decorated place: loved the blue wall colours in the basement, the framed photos on the walls and the cracked glass. For two of us with nonalcoholic drinks and plenty of food lots of leftovers, was £63. Their food options are enormous, including veggie choices I have not seen in any other Indian restaurant menus. I had a couple of dishes from the chaat section: the foxnut chaat, the bhalla khatori chaat and the tandoori veg momo dumplings. Warning the foxnut and bhalla khatori portions are HUGE. The foxnut is savoury, salty and addictive and the bhalla khatori yogurt sauce is DELICIOUS. I actually wish that came atop the foxnut chaat. I was so stuffed by the bhalla khatori I only had one veg momo dumpling but it was chewy and tasty, with some kick. I ordered jaljeera but wasn’t a big fan. Whilst it’s a mint drink it’s savoury and spicy. My husband’s mango lassi though has to be one of the best I’ve ever tasted. He agreed: it’s rich and creamy. My husband said his chicken tikka masala was fine. I also wasn’t impressed with the naan : not the most flavourful. Our waitress was lovely. My only caveat about the whole experience was how long our food took. A solid 20 minutes. So if you’re going make sure you have plenty of time.
I used to live on this road so had only ever been to the Indian restaurant that was here before Dhaba@49 - until last night. We knew we wouldn't be disappointed when we say the 'thousands' of delivery orders being prepped and flying out of the door but don't panic, the restaurant service / speed of food coming out of the kitchen was not impacted by this at all! Ordered the Samosa Chaat as a starter to share followed by the Chili Paneer, Highway Chicken Curry, Palak Chicken Curry w/ spinach, Paratha and Keema Naan. All very tasty and we had enough left for lunch for one. What can I say... everything, food and staff Hello Kevin! :, were brilliant. Just annoyed I've not been before now!
