I picked DGL from several other businesses, to build an extension to my kitchen, not a large job, but important to me. I'm so pleased that I did. I'm absolutely thrilled with the finished result. It's exactly as I wanted it and gets better every day.  Dave and Karen, together with their excellent team, managed the whole process with efficiency, a superb standard of work and a high work ethic. Dave also recommended other tradespeople and businesses - all local - for various jobs, again, their work was of excellent standard.  I would thoroughly recommend DGL Brickwork, whatever the size of the build.

Following planning approval for a single storey extension of approximately 20 square meters in early 2022, we decided to engage a builder to deliver and manage the whole project.  We made enquiries of a number of local builders on the Federation of Master Builders website and spoke with several of them to get indications of price and availability.  We were impressed with Dave Lomas’s approach even at that stage to the job, being considerate, practical and making a number of very helpful suggestions about making the work run smoothly. On the basis of initial pricing from a number of the contractors we had invited to quote; we asked DGL to carry out the work and asked for further re-pricing to include a number of additional items we wanted to include within a single contract.  Dave was very obliging and together with Karen, quickly came back to us with revised costs for the whole project and we agreed for DGL to carry out the work involved. The works started earlier than we had initially thought in mid August and were completed before the end of December and this included a 2 week period of delay since we needed to go back to the Local Authority for an amendment to the planning consent. Throughout the works Karen and Dave kept us well informed about each stage of the works and when deliveries or different trades would be on site.  Communications for the whole of the project were excellent and DGL have been quick to respond should there be any complications.  DGL’s team of associated trades are all very skilled as well as being efficient, tidy and available to discuss any questions or details.  Dave’s calm approach and well honed problem solving ability made sure throughout, that the job progressed without any major delay.  We were able to have our Christmas dinner in the new extension and have been extremely pleased with the workmanship, final appearance and functionality of the finished job. All in all we are delighted with the work and have no hesitation whatever in recommending DGL as a reliable, skilled and conscientious partner for a building project.  J&A Garvey Droylsden
