At my max weight I weighed close to 550. I know good food. Dexter’s is actual incredible. If I lived anywhere near Southgate I would gain all 200+ pounds I’ve lost back. The whole vibe and experience is 10/10.Food: 5/5

I was super excited to try Dexter’s after reading the reviews…and let me tell you these readies are 100% accurate. We were helped quickly and everyone was wearing a smile. The atmosphere was fun and happy. I got Tara’s Turkey Burger. Turkey burgers are easy to get wrong. They got it so right. It was light and juicy. And the flavor was phenomenal. It was served to us at our table in take out boxes, which for an introvert like me is extremely convenient. 10/10 will definitely be going again!

Somebody better tell 5 Guys that Dexter is coming for them!  11/10 Burgers are my favorite food and these guys absolutely nailed it! One of the best burgers I've had atop top notch Customer service and fair pricing. Burger was perfectly cooked and stacked so it was easy to eat- even the massive double burger, Bun didn't get soggy, bacon on top was thick and cooked just right, fries were hot and crispy. I've had Dexter's on my list of places to try for some time. My wife and I don't necessarily seek out burger joints, but the consistent praise we've heard and read for Dexter's led to a visit.  First, the location and atmosphere are both unassuming, homey and comfortable. As soon as you walk through the door, you're pleasantly greeted and informed of the ordering process order at counter, food brought to table. A very nice touch.  We each ordered a combo. I got Shauny's Mushroom and Swiss, and she got Steve's Spicy Burger. Just a few minutes later, giant burgers and plentiful fries were brought to our table in convenient carryout containers. The fries were nicely seasoned and piping hot. The burgers were perfectly cooked, had a nice sear, and there was no skimping on the toppings. I included a classic "bite" pic of one of the burgers to show how substantial their burgers are. Neither of us came close to finishing the entire combo, and it's interesting to consider that the price of a Dexter's combo competes with the price of a fast food combo. The main differences are that Dexter's is made to order from real food ingredients, there's a nice variety to choose from, and the quantity of food is probably 2 to 3 times that of the standard fast food combo. If you haven't been there, give it a shot. It would be hard to find more value in a burger combo anywhere. Next up, we're going to have to try one of the weekly specials!

Looking for a good burger close to I75. Reviews were very good and it looked easy off/on. Didn't know how big the patties were, so ordered a double, mushroom and swiss burger combo. Excellent old-fashioned burgers! One would have been plenty; but now I have leftovers! Very reasonable. Nice, friendly staff! Wish I lived closer. But I will definitely return when in the area.

Now let us tell you our experience.  We almost didn’t come in because the place looked empty but decided to give place a shot.  This place is a family owned restaurant of two years.  If you want to eat like Mc D but hear rumors about how their food are like, this place can take McD’s place!   5 guys do their work rather messy when we asked for “everything.  Great this place, we felt welcomed and we waited a bit before we got our food.  We had two burgers with everything toppings onion, lettuce and tomato, they were neatly placed and appropriate amount as well.  Give this place some love and they will return their love in their food.  See you one day!

This place rules. The amount of food you get for the money is incredible. I walked out uncomfortably full, because it was so good I couldn't help it, for like $12 getting the double dex combo.  Atmosphere was laid back, go order at the front, no frills, the guy that took the order came to check if everything was all good, dude from the back hollered that he appreciated you from the back as you left, exactly what you'd want out of a burger joint.  Honestly hard to put anywhere else above Dexter's for a burger in metro Detroit, good on ya fellas.

This is the place to be! I had an amazing double patty extra thick burger. It was fresh, they use a delicious bun, came with a ton of fries! My daughter had this delicious Jamaican jerk set of wings - in our opinion, they had just the perfect amount of spice. 10 out of 10 would recommendFood: 5/5

Wow! Great prices! Can’t remember the last time I fed my family of four for $40. These burgers are huge. Because of the prices we assumed they were smash burgers so we ordered doubles. Nope! They’re hand pattied, and taste delicious! The lemon pepper wings are so tasty and lots of meat on the bones. And although they were on the larger side they were still crispy. We drove 30 min because I’ve heard nothing but good things about this place and we were definitely not disappointed! It wasn’t quite ready when we arrived, but they ran the food out to us in the car. All around amazing experience! Wish we didn’t live so far! Keep up the great work!
