The first time in thirty years of booking cottages that I have been "bumped" on a booking. We were directed via an internet link to a cottage company, confirmed availability with them for the week we wanted, received confirmation of this by email and sent the deposit. The next afternoon we received an apologetic call from the agent to say that after our booking with them the owners had directly taken a booking for a longer period and we would have to cancel or rearrange. We decided to cancel not wanting to put business the way of anyone who would behave in this way.
