I visited the Cow Shed with my parents and my teenage daughter in July. The owners Katie and Mark were amazing hosts; helpful, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was well thought out and decorated and kept to a very high standard. Everything you could wish for was there. On arrival there was a bottle of sparkling wine, home made scones and fresh flowers on the table, which was a lovely and thoughtful touch. We were delighted to have superb meals cooked by Mark. The food was outstanding. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. I will certainly revisit.

A special place, furnished and equipped to a high standard and very child friendly. We enjoyed the spacious surroundings and the lovely amenities The Milkshed offers. Inside is as lovely as outside with a wood fired hot tub and acres of land to explore. Our 4 year old loved meeting the owners' children and collecting eggs from the chickens. On arrival we were welcomed in person and treated to fresh flowers and home made scones (still warm from the oven!). Mark is a wonderful chef and we took advantage of this extra option to have him cook us a special dinner one night. Our only complaint is that we couldn't stay longer.

We had such a lovely week at the Milkshed that we would give it 10 stars if we could! It looks even better than the photos and everything about it was just perfect. It was much more spacious than we expected, spotlessly clean and so well equipped with everything you could possibly need, and more! The location is ideal for both countryside and coast, and the local walks were carpeted by bluebells when we were there. We were made to feel very welcome and really appreciated the scones, jam and clotted cream, free range eggs and flowers which were waiting for us when we arrived. The meal Mark cooked for us was superb and we highly recommend that you take advantage of this unusual facility for self catering properties. In fact, we highly recommend the Milkshed to anyone who appreciates quality!

We have just returned to Australia after spending our final holiday week in The Milkshed - one of the best holiday houses that we have stayed in. Katie and Mark have done such a good job in renovating and decorating the property and were both very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The house contained just about everything we needed to have an enjoyable and comfortable week. The kitchen was incredibly well equipped and we particularly appreciated the Nespresso coffee machine. A bottle of wine and a, still warm from the oven, banana cake greeted us on arrival, especially welcome after a long journey. It was so lovely to be able to wander around the lake in the evenings and we wish Katie and Mark all the best with their plans for the area. July 2016
